Jamal Lewis had arguably the best single season as a RB in NFL history. Putting Ingram over him is a freakin joke.
Shaun Alexander had more yards and 17 more TD's than Lewis just two seasons later.
Weird to see someone so detached from reality.

Dude most of your list never played in the SEC. If you are talking SEC backs not some back at a school that played weak teams and is not even in the SEC then we can talk.
But when it comes down to SEC backs EVERYONE knows its either BO or Herschel

Herschel in 1981: 385 carries for 1,891 yards. Derrick Henry this year to this moment: 327 carries for 1,932 yards.
Damn, and Leonard Fournette had 300 carries for 1,953 yards and I wouldn't even begin to argue he was the best. Imagine if he had an offensive line though.

Herschel was the best ever in any objective poll. Why is this still being discussed? It’s Herschel Walker.

Henry is great, loved watching guts just bounce off him when he ran. Would have been nice to watch him and Herschel in the same era to get a better idea of who is better.
Alas we can’t, and much as I’d like to put Henry as the best, I can’t. Herschel stands alone at the top

I think it is Bo but that is just me. They are definitely 1 and 2 and flip a coin on the order.

Thank you, sir. Simple concepts seem to be alluding him. He thinks you can load up the box against the run when a QB throws the ball 25-30 times a game.

Guess you missed Coker throwing for over 330 yards in the title game against Clemson.

208 of those yards were to a wide open OJ Howard. No need to pretend like Coker had some prolific night passing.

I'm a fan of football, but football is not my life. Most fans of any sport or team feel this way, but continue exaggerating if you like.

Cheaters or not, Alabama is a winner, and according to everyone on this board "everyone cheats". So, I don't get your point. Trust me, all Alabama fans are enjoying it.
Part of our enjoyment is you crying about "muh BAMA cheats", while saying things like "I would walk around celebrating that nobody can cheat better than me".
Another day, another Rohan Gravy crying about Alabama post.

Lewis was physically a freak of nature. If I'm a coach assembling an all star team on talent alone im choosing Jamal, Mcfadden, Walker and Bo Jackson.

Henry was like 4th string that first season and a backup his second season when the offense was centered around a Heisman candidate WR in Amari Cooper.
no. You don't get to do that. One Alabama fan has already told us that the game did not change from 1980 until 2015.

quote:And yet if he was the GOAT they would have tailored the offense around him every year he was at Alabama. You know....like Georgia did with Herschel Walker.
No surprise that the year they finally tailor the offensive attack towards him he wins the Heisman while breaking SEC records. Also teams knew he was getting the ball in 2015 and he still ran over everybody.

Georgia was a one-trick pony.

When you look at his NFL career and how he's running over professional defenders the same way he did in college, I think the argument could be made for Henry to possibly be the greatest running back to ever come through the SEC.
A RB who came through the SEC and the greatest SEC back are two totally different things.

If you want to say Herschel had the best career, not many could argue.

I mean....that is exactly what we are arguing and you appear to be arguing against.

You mean except his first two seasons at Alabama. he wasn't even the best back on Alabama's team his first two seasons.

Yes. We were. Which means the defenses keyed in on Walker. Thanks for proving my point.

Well, considering how many yards he threw for it meets the very definition of prolific.
