Wow, this thread is terrible.
There are a lot of good, even great backs. Why does anyone need to put one down to make his/her favorite back look good?
Dyer, Latimore, Ingram, Richardson, et al are good/great.
The challenge is that each one has to overcome different obstacles, making it difficult to say one is completely better than the other.
Ding.
Beyond that, Vandy should give the ball to Warren Norman more.

Then don't fault Latt for playing the in the SECe.

Having more yards on significantly less carries is a pretty good case for Dyer at least being on par with Lattimore.
I understand he's got some weapons around him, but still. Watching him play he's got the best vision in a RB I've seen in a while.
He's looked good the last few weeks. He's got a really good blend of speed and power.

That would be my top three followed by Knile Davis.

He's looked good recently but he doesn't have the same burst Dyer has in my opinion.

I'd take Dyer. Choctaw prolly would too, he'll correct me quickly though if I'm wrong.

A far more interesting argument is ranking SEC WRs, because there are a plethora of great ones this year.
A.J. Green
Alshon Jeffrey
Darvin Adams
Julio Jones
Terrence Toliver
Justin Hunter
Greg Childs
etc.

Dyer is really good but he and Lattimore are in very different offenses and I think that Auburn's offense gives Dyer a bit of an advantage in terms of being able to put up big numbers. Lattimore is a feature back in a balanced offense, whereas Dyer is one of many very good runners in a heavily run-oriented offense. Dyer benefits from the defense having to be spread out to try to cover all of the threats.
If you interchanged Dyer and Lattimore I think they might just swap their stats. It would be close. This is a case of it being really hard to make a fair comparison between the two because their circumstances are so different.
Either way, they're both very good and I think they will have good SEC careers. We might be able to make a real comparison in a year or two after Cam Newton is gone and Malzahn has moved on (which seems likely... you don't have that much success and stay an offensive coordinator).

I only faulted latt cause you said the only reason dyer was doing good is cause of Cam. Which is false. You don't rush for over 7k yards in HS and not be good.

For clarification, by 'burst' do you mean 'acceleration'? Just wondering.

Ross, if you are going to argue on a yards per carry basis, you need to include Knile Davis who is averaging 6.5 yards per carry and remember, Knile is a year younger than Dyer.

That's true, but we are talking about Arkansas 5A. His competition was not that great. But he's undoubtedly a very good RB.

IMNSHO, I don't think Lattimore is that good. He isn't very fast and our awful defense shut him down.
He'll probably fade to an afterthought after this season.....

I know the story of the Arkansas/Auburn game was Tyler Wilson, but Knile Davis had a really good day.
He's come into his own recently. He'll be very good.

Over Latimore, Ingram, or Richardson? Are you really stupid or just pretending?

JMHO, but Knile Davis will be up there at the end of the season.

I'm not sure I've been watching the same guy.
A defense can scheme to stop a RB. You guys stop Ingram last year and he's good.
Lattimore is going to have a good career. Honestly if you've got Ingram, Richardson, Lattimore, or Dyer, then RB is not going to be a weakness.

He is looking better and better every game. Just imagine what he will look like next year when he turns 20.
