Springfield MO(easily worst town in state) and crime/cancer alley Beaumont representing!
Solid list.

Honestly surprised Knoxville ranks higher, but thats probably just my personal preference. I'd also put Fort Worth above Dallas, yet FW didn't even make the list.

Why? Pretty cheap, safe, clean, little traffic, no income tax, four seasons, unbelievable outdoors (Smoky Mountains, Tennessee River, Norris Lake)

Basically Jackson's big brother. Casts doubt on the entire list.

Austin is sad and depressing to me. When I visit, I can look around and tell that probably 20,30 years ago the place was unbelievable and kickass. Now, it’s just obvious that it has gotten so crowded, cramped, over developed and changed for the worst. You can tell it lost its “mojo.”

Just noticed South Bend at #25. That's even further off than the Montgomery rating.

it'll happen to every city that has any of that "mojo" today.

My oldest has been in Knoxville for about 5 years now. Great place, but it's no longer particularly cheap. She just sold her house for double what she paid for it when she moved there.

This list is shite as far as the Texas picks. Whoever wrote this list has obviously never been to McAllen, Brownsvile, or El Paso. Awful places. And Beaumont?!? What the hell? One of the nastiest towns in Texas. Even Corpus Christi is pretty low down on my list if I'm picking.
