Part of me wants to say the 2006 UF/Auburn game was a good one, but the other part of me is still pissed at how we lost without giving up an offensive TD.

How is 2008 Ole Miss/Florida on that list? And I'm not saying that because we lost.
Okay,swap it with either the 1968 Georgia-Florida game,or the 1970 Auburn-Florida game.

Was this when Archie had the game of his life?

quote:Yes - national player of the week. Scott Hunter had a great game too. Lead changed several times with Alabama finally winning like 33-32 or 32-31. It was one of the first prime time Saturday night games and I thought kind of changed college football and television. I59 could probably give better details but it was a game for the ages!

actually,Hunter had more passing yardage than Manning.
Manning had a lot of running yardage, too. Game was tied at 14 and then Ole Miss missed an extra pt to go up 20-14;Alabama went up 21-20.Then they each tried two pt conversions and failed with Alabama scoring last 33-32.
It was indeed THE first night time nationally televised game. Incidentally,it was the first college game I ever saw in person.

That was a great one. Scott Hunter vs Archie Manning.
The LSU vs. Auburn game that year has to rank up there too.
Best conference game I attended was LSU vs Ole Miss in 1961:
Ole Miss came into this game undefeated and the presumptive #1 team in the nation. (Actually ranked #2, but #1 Michigan State had lost an early afternoon game – an Ole Miss win against the #6 ranked Tigers would certainly propel them to the #1 ranking.). Stovall and Wendell Harris played great games – Harris scored all ten of the Tigers’ points. Great fourth down pass catch by Bill Traux kept the scoring drive alive (only pass completion of the night for the Tigers). .

I think 1993 UF/LSU, or 1996 UF/LSU, and 2008 UF/LSU are all better games...

Probably the 2 best SEC games I saw in person were the 1969 Ole Miss-LSU game in Jackson (Archie's Junior year) and the 1980 MSU-Alabama game (6-3), also in Jackson

Never, ever post that link again.
Three most painful losses I have ever witnessed were '85 IB, '88 Earthquake game, and '07 LSU game.

1999 Bama/UF OT(the regular season version)
2000 Orange Bowl Bama/Michigan OT
We lost the Michigan game the same way we won the Florida game. Florida missed their PAT in OT. We missed ours against Michigan in OT.

Some of our best games in the SEC..
1992 at Tennessee. Won it on a punt return with around a minute remaining to upset a great Tennessee team. We sucked that year, though.
2001 at Ole Miss. 7 OTs
2002 at Tennessee. 6 OTs
2002 vs. LSU. Miracle on Markham
2003 at Kentucky. 7 OTs.
2006 vs. LSU. Lost the game, but still fun to watch.
2007 at LSU. 3 OT thriller.
On a side note, our last 4 games with LSU have been decided by a total of just 10 points.
