Tate leads the NFL in Yards Per Carry 5.6 and carries more than 10 yards (32) playing second fiddle to Arian Foster.

The only reason Tate has those yards is because Foster was injured. In case you haven't noticed MI splits carries with 3 legit backs.

According to the Football Outsiders YAR Metric, Ben Tate has been the 5th best RB in the NFL this season while Ingram has been the 28th best RB. It doesn't matter how you slice it, Tate's clearly been the better RB this year.

Ben Tate only has 24 more carries. That's 1.8 more carries per game than Ingram

Besides, yards per carry has nothing to do with splitting carries with other backs.

As I said earlier, things can definitely change

Impressive! I know Mark left after his jr. season. Did Ben leave early too? Or did he stay for his senior year?

Ah, that explains why he has more yards then. During their final year in college...who had more yards and more tds and more carries?

They have completely different roles on their teams, and play in very different offenses. Tate comes in as a change of pace from Foster, Ingram plays more of a traditional role but splits carries with several other backs. The Texans are also a much better rushing team.

I was always one of the Bama fans that thought Trent was better than Ingram...

This is something I can agree with BAMA fans on. While Foster is better than any back that New Orleans has, Ingram still has more competition in an offense where he is complementary but not best suited for. Pierre is the best suited back where Sproles gives us the passing dimension. Give it a couple more years and then you'll have a debatable argument.

Besides, I don't recall VY leading the league in any category like Tate has. YPC and runs for over 10 are very significant stats for RBs.

I don't know about those, but FUMBLES is a huge stat for RBs and Tate leads the NFL for RB in fumbles per carry.

Is Tate that true aboriginal pygmy Chizik signed? Serious question. I remember my AU buddies saying they signed some Pirhana type kid for ubangy low gravity center or something... sev years back...
