Well, we typically have a damn good baseball team now....

And we have beaten UF 3 out of the past 4 times in football.

Don't like cheaters - at my school or any others. Ask me what I think of Sherrill - or even what I thought in 91 or 92 when he was hired.

We had some good teams in the 60's, when Spurrier was there and won a Heisman, the 70's, and in the 80's. Like I-59Tiger said above though, either bad luck or Georgia ( ) always got in the way. And sanctions, which were not undeserved.

UF before Spurrier was basically a hotbed of untapped potential. Bryant said something about UF being a sleeping giant I think. It's true, UF didn't come in to it's own until Spurrier arrived.

Charlie made it real easy not to like him - and that was before I knew he was cheating so. He was a good coach, though. Danny Ford at Clemson was easy to dislike, as well. Acted just like his mentor.

This is the same description most people give of Jackie as well. However, I have been around him on several occasions and he is a nice guy.

If he was aware that I am good friends with the person that his law suit is against......he wouldn't have shaken my hand a few years back and conversed with me

I saw Jackie at the SW baggage carousel at Hobby a couple of years ago. I was thinking how the mighty had fallen.

Florida was strong during the 80s as well with several 9 win seasons

1984 in light of major NCAA violations they were stripped of all wins.an SEC title in 1984 and 1985, though these were to be stripped due to NCAA violations

I have heard that Florida was caught with over 100 major NCAA violations in the early 80's. Is that true? That's a shockingly high number.
107 was the number. Many were very minor infractions but infractions none-the-less.

I figured that the number was too high for just major violations. I had heard the figure from some TV show that did a special on how Spurrier turned the program around. The reporter must have just lumped them all together.
