Bama goes 9-3 this year!!!

I doubt it. They don't have enough talent this year to consistantly play at the highest level. Depending on if they win the Clemson game they could go 7-5 or 8-4.

I can see LSU going 12-0 or 11-1 this year, so in that regard:

Maybe you should go back to the Rant with the other college kids with P&G glasses on that think would we would win the Superbowl every year by 50 pts.

Your nothing but a cheerleader. We talk actual football here.

Aug. 30 APPALACHIAN STATE (W)
Sept 6 TROY (W)
Sept. 13 NORTH TEXAS (W)
Sept. 20 at Auburn (toss-up)
Sept. 27 MISSISSIPPI STATE (W)
Oct. 11 at Florida (toss-up)
Oct. 18 at South Carolina (W)
Oct. 25 GEORGIA (toss-up)
Nov. 1 TULANE (W)
Nov. 8 ALABAMA (W)
Nov. 22 OLE MISS (W)
Nov. 28 at Arkansas (Little Rock)(W)

Ok - I see 9 wins and three that could go either way. With a lot of luck 12-0, with a little luck 11-1 and just because we should win at least 1 out of 3 in those games we go 10-2. Is that better?

8-4 is well within the realm of possibility for Bama. Look at their schedule:

Aug. 30 at Clemson
Sept. 6 Tulane
Sept. 13 W. Kentucky
Sept. 20 at Arkansas
Sept. 27 at Georgia
Oct. 4 Kentucky
Oct. 18 Ole Miss
Oct. 25 at Tennessee
Nov. 1 Arkansas St.
Nov. 8 at LSU
Nov. 15 Miss. State
Nov. 29 Auburn

There are five games they should absolutely win: Tulane, W. Kentucky, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Arkansas St.

There are three games they should lose: @Georgia, @Tennessee and @LSU.

Now, Saban's habit of losing a game he shouldn't is well documented, so let's assume that this will happen. BUT I think it's entirely possible - if not likely - that Bama will win one of the three games they should lose.

That puts them at 5-3, with @Clemson, @ Arkansas, Miss. State and Auburn remaining. Split those and they're 7-5; do one better (which I think is a real possibility) and they're 8-4.

Prolly not SEC CG, but a solid season and a bowl destination closer to New Year's Day that's not Shreveport.

I agree with everything you just said except that I would put Auburn in the "should lose" category, and take Tennessee out of it.

If Gumps do another Indy Bowl this year, will they still buy the Saban's "all part of the process" BS ?

Most will blame it on the fact that "Saban's players" are still freshman and that the arrests have left them shorthanded.

I agree I think that he will say "well we have to keep working at it and mature, and be professional" as his whole team cries cause the lost the INdy bowl

I agree with this. But a Bama fan making sense just isn't right...even comming from Bama Doug who seems to be a good guy.

I'd hope for better, but there is only so much he can do with the hand he has been dealt

anything less than 10-2 would be Saban's first two years would be worse than Shula's last two.

The swing game for Bama will be Arkansas. Mark my words! That is the game Petrino has marked as a Coming Out Statement. It is the kind that usually catches Saban looking ahead.
