Post season we will have played 5. A&M, Ole Miss, LSU, SECCG, NC. (provided we beat LSU)

Which will be more than most teams play ranked teams. Oh, not only 5, but 4 of 5 top 10 teams. So, we'll see how well the D does against those to become a top 10 defense.

And fwiw, not that I expect it to happen for sure, but Auburn has a shot at being ranked by then. THAT would be 6 ranked.

LSU 6, not counting post season, Nicky schedules cupcakes

Correction. Nicky beats teams in his own division so BAD they BECOME cupcakes. Beforehand they weren't. That's how good he is. He beats teams into submission and steals their recruits and gets their coaches fired, THEN he schedules cupcakes. Well, this year he did. Before this year when y'all had nothing to complain about in terms of our schedule you didn't hear us groaning and griping like people have about our schedule THIS year.

Pretty sure we scheduled VT when they were coming off of a Sugar Bowl appearance. Not really our fault they were a dumpster fire last year.

Ah, I must have over-estimated your cunning remark about how we only play 3 ranked teams. Perhaps you didn't realize you sounded like you were giving us a back handed compliment.

Well that males us different, you don't understand prevent defenses allow a lot of yards and always have.

Also, you discount all the drives kept alive, I will not.

Watch the game again.

I stated last week you have to blitz this guy a lot, CNS disagrees and was wrong, that's on the coach.

Watch how LSU pressures him, hell NO DB CAN COVER 10. Seconds. NONE

I'll give him a pass since he rarely loses and in fact won in spite of his bad scheming.

Furthermore, defensive rankings are heavily influenced by the way the opponent played that week and the schedule. Florida State lead the nation in scoring defense at a point last season; this is the same defense that gave up 37 points to Clemson and got worn out by Florida. Notre Dame's defense looked good on paper and received a ton of hype but couldn't stop Alabama in the BCS title game.

Wow, before this year Bama fans worshiped STATS, they would post every possible stat known to mankind when it made them look good. Now suddenly stats arn't relevant because every team plays a different schedule. Makes sense.

You do realize of course that the whole entire point of this thread is stat based? I am assuming that at the end of the year we will have the STATS to prove my point, so this thread can be bumped.

This must be a tough time for you to realize that your one contribution must be stricken from the debate.

been saying this for years the tied d is good but not great As the stats show. The gumps have played a lot of teams with sub par qbs.

Their front seven is tough but the dbs are trash. They have played capable qbs mett, murrary & johnny and those games have been dog fights barely xcaping with a win.

Remind me a lot of the steelers. Great pressure with the front 7 is their key. Just like the steelers with weak corners they get their arse toasted if the dl and lbs can't get pressure.

Given your cupcake feast until LSU. I say top 10. Your schedule rivals Florida State's.

did the math earlier. there's a realistic chance that at the end of this schedule we will have played 6 ranked opponents and 4 of which will have been top 10 teams.

we will play a minimum of 4 ranked opponents, 3 of which will have been top 10. provided we don't have any weird upsets.

Shitty secondary.

well, nobody has a qb that's going to force us to play exclusively man coverage on an uncoverable receiver, certainly not LSU. i think we will be fine

What 4 teams are ranked in the top 10 will you play? I see 2, LSU and TAMU. As for ranked opponents. lol. AU, OM, UT, etc wont be ranked by the time you play. You may play 4 ranked teams max. LSU, Va Tech, TAMU and OM.

And I wasn't referring to your OP. I was referring to your buddy discounting stats in his point, try to keep up.

Your defense last season was much better, this year's defense will turn out to be almost as good. Kinda hard to judge your defense when you play manziel, it's almost not fair. Y'all will have a great defense as always it just isn't hitting on all cylinders yet. This is the truth!!!!

TAMU, LSU, SECCG (if we beat LSU), and BCS bowl game.

That's 4 in the top 10.

We will have played 6 ranked teams IF and only if Ole Miss stays ranked AND Auburn gets into the top 25 by the time we play them.
