You do realize that a large percentage of stolen and shoplifted items are sold on EBay.
I do not buy anything from EBay anymore due to this, especially New in Box stuff sold at below prices.

Cam will not miss the last half of season. He'll be suspended 6 games if that much.

It would be possible to buy it from an individual who didn't ask his age. I mean, if the guy was selling him a stolen gun, I doubt he cared about his age.
Also, can't someone under 21 be given a handgun as a gift?
All that being said. I'll be incredibly disappointed with Saban and UA if either one of these guys is on the field against USC. IF IF IF Camrob has a reasonable explanation for the possession of the gun, and it's only weed charges, a hefty suspension(whole season) is adequate punishment. If he knew it was stolen, he better be gone.
Regarding Hootie, I haven't read as much information on his charges. I would probably have similar feelings as those toward CamRob.

Not in LA... 18

Can all the unemployed O&G guys in Louisiana and night-owl meth dealers in Alabama keep us 9 to 5 folks updated about the press conference? Would love to know the details…

Yes... in LA someone 18 or older can buy/own/possess a LEGALLY obtained firearm (including handguns)
quote:
LA R.S. 14:91 Unlawful sales of weapons to minors
A. Unlawful sales of weapons to minors is the selling or otherwise delivering for value of any firearm or other instrumentality customarily used as a dangerous weapon to any person under the age of eighteen. Lack of knowledge of the minor's age shall not be a defense.

Wrong. 18 is the age to purchase a shotgun or rifle. Federal law prohibits:
quote:
selling or delivering firearms other than shotguns or rifles (e.g., handguns) or ammunition for those firearms to any person the dealer knows or has reasonable cause to believe is under the age of 21
ETA - The private sale loophole is where the grey area occurs.

Easily, Jones will take the fall for this one.
Still can't understand how stupid a guy like Robinson can be, you are less than a year away from a huge payday but you do stupid stuff like this and your draft stock will suffer.

OK... but he can still have a handgun at 18. In LA you can possess a handgun UNDER the age of 18 under certain circumstances.
quote:
95.8. Illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile
A. It is unlawful for any person who has not attained the age of seventeen years knowingly to possess any handgun on his person. Any person possessing any handgun in violation of this Section commits the offense of illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
B.(1) On a first conviction, the offender shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars and imprisoned for not less than ninety days and not more than six months.
(2) On a second conviction, the offender shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars and imprisoned with or without hard labor for not more than two years.
(3) On a third or subsequent conviction, the offender shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars and imprisoned at hard labor for not more than five years.
(4) A juvenile adjudicated delinquent under this Section, having been previously found guilty or adjudicated delinquent for any crime of violence as defined by R.S. 14:2(B), or attempt or conspiracy to commit any such offense, shall upon a first or subsequent conviction be fined not less than five hundred dollars and not more than one thousand dollars and shall be imprisoned with or without hard labor for not less than six months and not more than five years. At least ninety days shall be served without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
C. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to any person under the age of seventeen years who is:
(1) Attending a hunter's safety course or a firearms safety course.
(2) Engaging in practice in the use of a firearm or target shooting at an established range.
(3) Hunting or trapping pursuant to a valid license issued to him pursuant to the laws of this state.
(4) Traveling to or from any activity described in Paragraph (1), (2), or (3) of this Subsection while in possession of an unloaded gun.
(5) On real property with the permission of his parent or legal guardian and with the permission of the owner or lessee of the property.
(6) At such person's residence and who, with the permission of such person's parent or legal guardian, possesses a handgun.
(7) Possessing a handgun with the written permission of such person's parent or legal guardian; provided that such person carries on his person a copy of such written permission.
D. For the purposes of this Section "handgun" means a firearm as defined in R.S. 14:37.2, provided however, that the barrel length shall not exceed twelve inches.

Anybody who thinks Cam Robinson will face some major suspension doesn't know bammer or Saban very well. 1 game suspension at most and even that might be a stretch

Anyone who thinks what you think, doesn’t know the law very well. Possessing a stolen firearm, even without controlled substances present, is a very major felony. It is exacerbated by the marijuana. This is not some bar fight, DUI, or minor possession hook.
He could potentially face real jail time for this. At the least, he will be suspended half the year IMO. My guess, if he is not completely vindicated, is he transfers to smaller program and tries to stay clean so he still gets drafted highly.

Of course Saban uses the word "process" in his first tweet addressing the situation
Gotta hand it to the man- he stays true to his wordplay.
