Not really sure where I was going with this one...CSB, I guess. I just found it suprising since the media would have us believe UA has a "very balanced offense"
I'm sure its already been pointed out, but those stats are bullshite.
Williams has had at least three TDs...that I can recall immediately.
EDIT: Hmmmm...someone else says two, and that may be right. I know he had one against Penn State and one against Arky, but I thought he had at least one more against Auburn too...maybe that was just Smelley's day.

^This.
On Jan. 9th, post-season awards, stats, Bama's title's from the 1800's, etc. won't matter one bit. It's a new one-game season on Jan. 9th.
I hope it gets here soon because the threads and posts are getting worse. And I'm participating in them. Damn.

And LSU doesn't even have a QB with 1500 yards passing. Coupled with over 100 less pass attempts than Alabama, what are you trying to argue in a thread about offensive balance?
When LSU throws, it isn't simply an extension of the run-game. That's all. LSU has thrown for 500 yards less (on less attempts) but has thrown for like.. 5 (or 6?) more TDs?
Just a different style.

The numbers are almost identical for yards per pass and yards per catch. So if your assertion is true, I guess you could say Bama's receivers and backs are getting more yards after the catch. Maybe it makes you feel more manly to complete longer throws (if that's true who knows), but your guys must be real pansies to keep falling down after their catches.
Come to think of it, Shepard does seem to have a problem staying on his feet.

And Maze didn't start the trash talking. Mathieu got in his face after the opening kickoff and Maze responded.
Both teams are great so I don't see the need for anyone to trash the other. Both teams have DOMINATED everyone they've played except each other.

This. At least we played PSU on the road in addition to LSU. LSU has only played us. Hell, they haven't played offenses that are all that either. WVU is fromt he Big Least, and had a lucky day against LSU, and Oregon would lose to almost anyone in the SEC because they're so small, of course LSU dominated them.

Good god. This thread is still going...
This was in no way intended to be a flame. But this is just a testament to two fanbases that "care so much" about their schools that they feel the need to spit fire via the interwebz. I'll do my best to stay away from the two Rants for the next couple of weeks.

Wrong. Oregon is a hell of a football team this year. I think they are as strong as Arkansas.

It's the McElwain offense. He's horrible calling passing plays in the red zone. His offense relies a lot on the same predictable short passes under ten yards. When the field is condensed in the red zone, opponents only have to prepare for guarding against the same five or six pass patterns which makes their offense very limited. That's why Alabama has struggled in the red zone under his watch. It's also why I believe the true value of an offensive coordinator is gauged by stats like 3rd down conversion percentage and TD% in the red zone.

You ever think Jim calls plays the way he does because they dont have alot confidence in AJ?

Alabama's offense was mediocre scoring TDs in the red zone last year with a senior Greg McElroy at QB who had a pretty solid year. And LSU is 13th this year in scoring TDs in the red zone and they've had Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson at QB. There is no excuse for McElwain's inability to put TDs on the board in the red zone.
