fsu loss should bot be glossed over or ignored but it should be understood that that was a decent motivated football team in week 1 with a stadium that was rocking that they have waited for for 2 years to play. that team was much different than week 12 fsu. now I don't know how you really weigh that but that's the reality

I just don’t think Bama should be penalized for making it to CCG. I honestly just wouldn’t want Horns to back door their way in that way.

Unfortunately though all of this is still just a beauty contest. Just like it was in the BCS era with top 2 teams, then top 4 teams. And it’ll be the same when it’s the top 16 teams.

I’d rather see a move back to divisions and then play it off NFL style (or Texas high school style). SEC would have 2 divisions, playoffs begin in conference with #1 in East vs #2 in West, and vice versa. Those winners are then seeded on opposite sides of a larger bracket that brings in the champs of other conferences.

That takes the idiots in the media and the playoff committee out of the equation and makes it about numbers and head to head results.
