Bama fans, what happened to Eli Ricks

He routinely got beat like a drum Saturday night. He never looked that bad at LSU, just wondering what happened to him. I know he was in the dog house earlier in the year.

He played well the week prior. He looked rattled Saturday. They said Saban had talked to him about not getting wrapped up emotionally with returning to Baton Rouge. Didn’t play like that talk resonated.

He is not that good? He might not have started at LSU this year so he transferred. And because he isn’t that good he played little the first six games of this year. And when he did play the last two games he got abused. So maybe he isn’t that good. Maybe?

He was plenty good at LSU, he did make all American one year.

Ego and work ethic are as important as inate physical skill once you get to the SEC and especially the NFL. So when I say he “isn’t that good” I don’t mean he wasn’t the most physically gifted player on the field. But he couldn’t play football. I played shitty football; too small and too slow. But I played two years with Andre Royal. Most gifted athlete I’ve ever seen in person up close. Was not great in highschool because he didn’t give a shite. Then went to Alabama and got suspended from the team for a year for fighting. Still, because of his god given ability he was on an NFL roster tor 5 years. In highschool the only time he went in the weight room was when it was time to set records for the year. He may or may not have been at practice. And during a game he might have tried or not. But he didn’t care.
