After Stalling's last iron bowl he resigned in the locker room. My dad had his radio and was telling people "Stallings just retired!" and Bama fans were laughing at him, thought he was crazy.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Coach Stallings a couple of times, and he's always been pleasant and seemingly genuine. He's a credit to both Alabama and Texas A&M... as for Coach Saban, it's hard to say...he's focused and intense, but his happiness was evident in last weeks victory over LSU...he might yet work his way out of the respected catagory and into the beloved catagory...

Stallings was like your grandpaw. even when he whipped your arse you came away feeling like he did it for your own good and he cared about you...and you respected him for it. I seriously think Stallings, as a person, is the type of man that Bama folks like to give credit to Bryant for being...when he wasnt. very good coach, even better person.
