Austin Allen and The Play Action Passer

I'm not trying to be perceived as some 'gracious victor' here. I went to a very good football game last night and watched two very good football teams battle it out in a game that was very important to two very fine institutions.
I feel somewhat obliged to share that IN MY HUMBLE OPINION Austin Allen is THE finest play action passer I have ever seen play. Sweariously.
He rolls left, he rolls right, he back-peddles, he runs forward full speed after having back-peddled... and he-- the football coach's wet dream-- sets his feet and squares his hips and both initiates and completes his passing motion at the speed of light... ...and he hits dimes with chucked nickels 95% of the time.
That kid is remarkable.
It helps that he has two receivers and a tight end who will catch everything that hits them. (I wish we did).

And he gets demolished on 75% of those pass plays.

His parents should be very proud, both their kids are tough as nails. Austin is a really legit pro prospect IMO

Yes, Sir. And there's THAT.
It's almost like talking about Muhammad Ali. After you discuss all of the other great attributes you can talk about the toughness. Y'all should be very proud. I would be.

one of the best things Nutt ever did while at Arkansas was keep Bobby Allen on staff. If he was let go who knows if he would've stayed in Fayetteville to raise his family. also supposedly his daughter is a freakish athlete as well.

I agree. Watching shots of their dad, Bobby Allen, on the sidelines made me think how proud he must be of his two sons.

I agree. Perhaps the best QB in the SEC.

I got home today, turned on the lights and air conditioner, showered, and played the game. I watched those shots of his dad, Coach Allen. With 4 minutes left in the 4th that grand old dad was hurting. And hurting bad. An old football coach watching his great young football playing son suffering, but staying... Suffering, but still playing...
My wife loves and watches all manner of emotional and relationship-based TV.
I love that episode of M*A*S*H where the general's son dies.
Jesus.
