It seems like a legitimate question, other than the phrasing of the statement. Transfer QBs, JUCO or not, rarely work out to the level of the hype.

signed: Greg Mcelroy

Mallet this year.

And for those saying Cam is not what AU needed, that is dumb. AU needs a new QB next year to lead the O. Cam as a JUCO transfer who played a few plays at UF and went through practice with them for a while is more likely to be a capable QB next year than the highest rated high school QB in the entire country.

So Cam is a GREAT pick up. We will see how it works out, but it is the most important position on the field for us, and Cam may be better than anyone we have. Just have to wait and see.

haha....weak rebuttals......

Yeah, the entire season was Chris Todd's fault....had nothing to do with no defensive depth which is why we had three straight games with 14-0 leads only to lose 2 of the 3......

Some of you guys either don't know anything about football or you are just intentionally blind when it comes to Auburn......I know the answer.....

Cam Newton is going to give us a shot to compete for the West this year instead of waiting until 2011.....

But, hey, we didn't believe that the ginger warrior would lead you guys to an undefeated mark this year either, so it's a fan thing, I understand.

Yeah, you guys were real gang busters this year.

Take a look at our offensive record books, what I said is just the truth....

Also, we went from about worst in the nation in offense to top 20....most schools would gladly take that.

What was his passing percentage in JUCO?

Also, how many yards per carry did he average in JUCO?

I know it is, but the matter of the fact is that the only record books kept over time is your W-L. You guys lost to every good team.

Irony. Sweet Irony.

So Newton is going to do something about this?

This kid is amazing! He is going to rewrite the AU record books for O, all while bolstering a depleted D! Amazing! Watch out SECW

Where he lead the team to a 5-0 start against cupcakes...only to suffer 5 losses in the last 7 games.

I am sick of this seeing this. We also won 3 of our last 5 games including the bowl game. And we were one play from 4/5 down the stretch.

I will say this much about AU; they are on the up. Basically, they are a puzzle missing some pieces right now.

You used Chris Todd as an example as to why we lost games down the stretch. I was pointing out that it was defensive depth and not offensive productivity that was the problem, ultimately. You guys should know this since you just had the same depth problems a few years ago. This is why we had a tendency to give up a lot of fourth quarter points. This isn't rocket science, so you should understand it fairly well.....

yeah, usually the QB position is sorta important....unless you have an area that negates any offensive improvements, a QB can single-handedly doom your chances or improve them. Again, I can't believe you know so little about the game that you wouldn't know this. You should stop playing dumb.

Moral victory = Bama spin for getting their arse kicked 58.5/60 minutes against AU.

Guess moral victories are ingrained in Bama after getting owned this decade and most of the life of current Bama fans.

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I'm sure you have access to google and can research it until your heart is content.

I want to say his completion percentage was in the 60s and his average yards per carry was round 5 or 6 yards, but that is just a guess.....

He runs a 4.46 in the forty so speed and mobility isn't an issue. His accuracy also improved a lot since he has been working on that. In our system, he will get plenty more work in that department and I expect him to be accurate if he wins the starting job over the other guys.

That sounds a lot like the stuff typed up about T. Rollinson. What's he up to these days? The guy was an Army AA, right? Had great speed and was really accurate?

Correct. Rollison is a great talent with good mobility, but even better accuracy and touch on the ball.

TR is to running what Cam is to passing from what I've heard.

TR will compete for the starting job and Cam better bring his A game if he's going to win the job from him.....

Holy shite. Are you Josh Moon from the Montgomery paper? You have the ingrained talking points down pat. How does it feel to be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome?

He had 108 carries for 655 yards. That's an average of 54 yards per game against JUCO competition.

He had a 60.7 % completion percentage against JUCO competition.

Man, he's going to set the SEC on fire with those gaudy JUCO numbers.

You asked if Rollison was a good passer and I told you the truth. If you don't like it, take it up with the folks who evaluated him and the coaches who have coached him.....what do you want me to do, lie to you so that you feel good about your main rival? I'm not going to do that just to massage your football ego and your fragile emotional state over this stuff. Toughen up.

Secondly, it is, to use your earlier phrase, sweet irony that a fan would accuse me of using talking points when your school employs a coach who dictates to the media which questions to ask......
