Possibly...but LSU has documentation of every transaction and specific details of their requests. Something Oregon does not have and the reason everything is coming down on them.

Don't know...when did James sign?

exactly we could leave a paper trail paying someone 200k and mark wouldn't do a damn thing about it. unlike before where the ncaa had a bullshite grudge vs daddy dale its a complete 180 now.

I'm not 100% sure how the biz works...but i would assume that a scouting company would not allow an employee to do scouting work on his own to make a profit. Maybe he went all Palin/McCain on 'em and decided to go rogue.

Lyles seems shady and I don't think it is safe to assume that he was legit just because he wasn't the owner of the recruiting service he worked for. I suspect his access to these kids is what landed him the job in the first place. How often he violated NCAA rules, with what schools and what proof is out there is unknown. Right now it seems like Oregon is going to go down. I could see it ending there, but if it goes any further than that, I suspect several other schools will get in trouble.

LSU wont be one of the ones to get in major trouble. its going to be awesome watching cfb and the itat crew throw a bitchfest over it.

quote:I think that depends on what Lyles says. From what I have read there are 5-10 schools hoping Lyles doesn't say the wrong thing about his dealings with said school. LSU, Auburn and Texas are the biggies off the top of my head. From what is out there now, I find a small bit of comfort from the fact that AU apparently does not have any payments on the books to Lyles or his service, but that doesn't end the chances of him saying something.

doesn't matter what lyles says the paper work says what we wanted and what was delivered. paper work backs us plus mark e isn't going to let LSU get hammered. if anything he might let us get a slap on the wrist so it appears he wasn't favoring us but nothing major will happen to us.

^^This would bother the shite out of me ~ it's obvious that Lyles was "involved" with at least one HS recruit that signed with AU, and more than one of Lyles recruits visited AU, albeit signed with another school.
So who the hell paid Lyles for getting Seastrunk & Reed to visit AU?
Did they visit AU on more than one occasion and did Lyles or one of his associates/runners (Sean Nelson) accompany the recruits to AU?
Who paid Sean Nelson for taking time away from his regular job to help these players?
Still a lot of questions floating about Lyles and his services.
