Honest question. If that was the case then it tells me there's something to be worried about. Did Chizik just say frick it and play him anyway? I was pretty much under the impression that if Newton took a snap Saturday then Auburn was 100% positive of his eligibility. Now with everything that's still floating around this investigation it appears that Auburn pretty much was told to play him at your own risk. Is there really a power struggle overall? If so, that doesn't bode very well for your future.

Then why the sudden change to "no comment" by your coach? Do you honestly think NOTHING will come of all of this? Like, seriously?

Yes Chizik totally ignored his boss and told JJ to suck hind tit because above all else cam was playing. What JJ was heard tearing was the NCAA note that said to sit Cam.

Supposedly that's how we'll be responding to all inquires regarding cam.

I personally have no idea. Then again i can only offer you what i've read in the papers. I could tell you what i read on the message board, but that's not really information.

Seriously what I expect to come from this is a huge MELTDOWN in TD when Auburn and Cam are cleared and they are holding the crystal football in Jan. That is seriously what I expect to come from all this.

The NCAA doesn't sit players, they only make recommendations. There were rumors flying around Friday and Saturday that Auburn administration was torn. Some people said sit him some said play him. Then yesterday there some pretty big allegations thrown around on various places by people that generally don't make shite up. I just have a hard time believing that Auburn would decide to play him if they didn't know if he was/wasn't 100% eligible.

I doubt anyone that posts on a messageboard knows for sure. The only place I have seen that reported is on the 'net - and I don't see the school coming out and announcing "Cam is starting but over the strenuous objection of certain members of the adminsitration/coaching staff."

Was talking to one of the people who sits right behind me at the game Saturday. The person lives in Auburn and knows several of the guys on the football team, and the comment they made was that they are good friends with an Alabama Bureau of Investigation agent. When asked f he knew anything, the ABI agent said that according to his friends the whole Cam thing was just "dumb" and that there is nothing new in the investigation - everything that is coming out now has been known for a while, but the media is now trying to make a big deal about it and everyone is trying to scoop everyone else so they are just taking anything and running with it.

As with most everything else that is out there, this is 3rd party friend of a friend type info so who knows how much truth there is to it.

I'm pretty sure even the most homerific Auburn fans understand that something is going to come out of all of this.

Surely you don't believe this.

Some poster without a link says something i don't give a shite what team it is, it carries about as much weight as rumors the office receptionist starts.

the only place i've heard of that being a rumor is here so i would say no. One thing about Jay Gouge is that if you go against him, you are done so I strongly doubt it. The argument that our "change in policy" with regards to commenting on everything does not mean there was any disagreement, but more the the fact that there was an NCAA & FBI investigation going on so you aren't really allowed to comment. If you notice, MSU got pretty quiet after Wednesday too.
