You rewarded him by playing his son that you knew he had tried to(or did) sell his son like a piece of meat or should I say for thirty pieces of silver. Auburn knew it was wrong, and the entire nation sees it as wrong, and Auburn can't understand why the country is not saying that they had the best team, the best players or the best coaches in the country. They may be getting all of these awards, but it's only because they won the championship, by whatever means, but they were awarded the championship. Cecil Newton brought disgrace to the Auburn program, and you have accepted it. He even threw it back in your face with his appearance at the championship game.
Now I do not blame the man for being there to support his son, but don't lie about it, and don't mislead the school by saying you weren't going to be there. That's what everyone has a hard time buying, the doing whatever you want and then telling the most stupid lies and expecting people to believe them. Just tell the truth, the game wasn't in Auburn, he won't travel with the team, he's a father and has a right to be there as a private citizen, and we'll sell our soul to win this championship and do not care what type of players we have. Just remember Greed and lies are also a sin.
You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity. Farewell.

I just find it odd that anyone would complain that someone said "____ is an atheist" or challenge that the statement was made. It isn't an insult.
I just find it odd that someone would ask me what was "wrong" with something when I never directly said or even implied that it was "wrong".

I find it funny that SUperman still hasn't responded to Midnites post.....I guess when you actually get called out on the forums with a legitimate item, its always best to duck it and reply to someone elses post instead.

Since Auburn coaches are promoting the program as being a Christian oriented, is there a preferred denomination, or are all mainstream Christian denominations included, or just Baptist? Just curious.

Absolutely and most of these threads are just regurgitation of talking points...LOL
Although attacking for a prayer is somewhat original. I see this thread as one of the many that have and continue to be started about Auburn and yet Bama fans think we are their little brother, but let a prayer get them all bothered because they think it helps our recruiting.

So they would accept someone of Roman Catholic faith as "family"?

They would even accept Saban to join the prayer circle if he chose too.

You didn't say anything for me to respond to. You told me that I needed to read it before I judge others. What exactly did you want me to respond to?
ETA: This is actually the only thing you said:

A link or a quote will do.
Thanks!
You didn't, but one of your fellow fans did in this thread.

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Let me rephrase this for you, since you're having an issue comprehending...
Since you pray, and consider yourself a Christian; it would be wise for you remember Matthew 7:1-5. It's a sin to judge others, and that's exactly what you are doing.
How is your behavior not sickening exactly? You're judging a man, who by all accounts, is a religious man and chose to pray with people. How is that a sin? And don't judge or infer here.

Mathew 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
If you feel Trooper doing a prayer with some recruits is a slap in the face I implore you to adhere to the teaching turn the other cheek and go on with thine day.

Scripture makes it clear that if a Christian is acting in a manner that is unholy, then they should be called out for it. Judging their actions is perfectly fine, as long as it's warranted.
quote:

Again, it depends on his motive.
If he is praying with recruits so they see him as a "role model" or a religious man that can be trusted, etc... then he's wrong.
If he's praying with recruits in an effort to pursuade the ones who are having to "pray about it" to join the family and come to Auburn - a religious University - then he's wrong.
If he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart because he cares about the recruits - then he could have gone about doing it in numerous different ways that do not include going to Jordan Hare Stadium, and standing in the middle of all the recruits gathered around the Auburn logo.
If you want me to admit that he COULD have had pure intentions, then I'd like for you to admit that he could have had impure intentions. There is a lot more evidence pointing to the latter than the former.
