I always wondered why the A was smaller than the U. I assumed it was some sort of symbolic meaning that the University was bigger than just the physical location of Auburn.

Now that I see both letters at the same size, it looks worse. Those extra bits of white in the original near the top of the U added to it visually. Without it, it seems odd. Why even keep the blocked caps on the letters, as the effect is now covered up?

I had never noticed either, but now, especially with the change, it certainly does look like they added a little fat klansman into their logo.

Bad change.
