I hear you but I have seen stranger teams rise to the top.
That means they need it more. One loss Bama will get the benefit of the doubt, but Scar, maybe not so much. They could be going against one loss Notre Dame, one loss USC(west), one loss OU, and one loss tOSU. How important is playing in the SEC then?

I agree with your premise and generally do root for the conference but to play devil's advocate, most would accuse the SEC of being down if a team won that hadn't ever won it before. Whether that is fair or not.

Is there really a thought that he won't be healthy? What was his main injury to begin with?

It was his shoulder, but with Gus giving out injury updates, who knows if he will be healthy. He went two weeks this year without throwing in practice. All the while Gus was telling us he was "coming along nicely" or "he'll be good to go". Then we all saw his noodle arm in the UGA game and he hasn't played since.
There are rumors that he needs surgery and it might never heal properly. Gus is a paranoid schizophrenic.

I guess this makes sense, I would think that this would be the case if he still isn't healthy at this point.

This interview suggests it was an AC sprain or maybe he was just trying to move on to the next question?

There may come a day when your team wins the SEC and has one loss. They will be fighting with other one loss conference champs for that 4th spot. Then it will occur to you how much national perception of the conference matters.

Please. Look at the Big 10. Awful every year and they still get a team in.

I don't root against SEC teams, but I certainly don't root for them to win.

You and I know the Big 10 is awful, but it is perceived as the best this year by the national media. I understood your point. It doesn't matter to USC if the conference wins ooc games, but it might one day. Just pull for whoever you want to. I was just trying to explain when it does matter. That's all.
