This is what I'm saying, very few QBs have both great accuracy and a big arm, but someone can look accurate at times due to the strong arm...

I disagree with your notion that only a few big armed QBs have good accuracy. I agree with you when you say, "good velocity on a ball can make it go where you want it".

I agree, and if you can throw the ball 'where you want it', you're accurate. That's all Im saying.

As far as you nit picking on a pass that is 30 yards down the field because it's 4 inches too high says a lot.

And FWIW, as a former receiver, the best place to catch a ball is around the shoulder pads, neck area. It's a natural catch. I know on TV they say throwing the ball in between the numbers is the perfect spot, that's not the case. It can handcuff receivers who cant decide whether or not to catch it underhanded.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but you could probably count on your hands the QBs that have both in the NFL. Take Drew Brees, he doesn't have a cannon per say, but he has enough arm to pair with his accuracy to be as good as he is.

But some cannot consistently be on target. QBs like Flacco and Roethlisberger have big arms and have NFL appropriate accuracy, but they miss more times than QBs like Kurt Warner and Chad Pennington, who I consider "accurate" passers.

I admit I went out on an limb on that, I was a QB as a kid, so I didn't do much catching in football.

After I looked at the play again without my crimson shades on, I saw why he threw it where he did. I was taught to throw in front of a WR on a slant route in single coverage, I thought Newton threw that with one man on him. But the second time I watched it, I saw he actually had another man covering his WR, so he actually made a nice play with his arm strength.

I tried that a few times myself, but I ended up throwing several INTs

Cam Newton is an electrifying quarterback that can beat you with his arm and legs. Cam Newton is ultra quick in the pocket and virtually impossible to stop in a one on one situation. Cam Newton is the type of quarterback that can put so much pressure on a defense because of his ability to make a play outside of the pocket. Cam Newton is also a good passer that shows all the throws. Cam Newton is a "Michael Vick" type of signal caller and very exciting to watch.

I don't think you've referenced that stupid website enough. Maybe you should make another 6 threads about it.

What exactly did Cam do? I didn't see one TD drive. His part of the "highlight reel" was 3 or 4 completed passes.

lol.

That's because he only threw 8 passes in the game. We rotated 3 QB's in the first half and I don't even think Newton went out there in the 2nd half, which was a 12 minute running clock that went by quick.
