I think injuries have allot to do with it...but I also think the lack of production on the offensive side of the ball has led to fatigue, increased injury, and just an overall demoralization of the defense.
Yep.

Vandy knocked the shite out of these 3.
I wonder how Bama would fare if they had to play without Cody, Rashad Johnson, and Rolando McClain. That would be very comparable to AU's situation - best Dlineman (Marks), best linebacker (Blackmon), best secondary player (Powers). Oh yeah, take your pick on Bama's second best Dlineman for Coleman who has missed two games and played ineffectively hurt in two more with a bad ankle.
I would venture to say the LSU, Ole Miss and Kentucky games may have all have been a loss without those three players. UT would probably have been a toss up and Bama would probably have 3 losses.

Funny how those things work out. A few years ago, Bama was getting hit by the injury bug to key players. I cannot remember them all but there were several. One that stands out was yall's best Olineman - Britt I think? I think it was the '05 or '06 season when you guys were getting hit with key injuries.

It was 2005... we were 10-0 I think, "Bama's Back" was the cover of SI. We lost Prothro (bigtime skill player) but we'd have still been ok until we lost Closner, our center. He was the general of our O-Line, Brodie Croyle's roommate, and he would have taken a bullet for Brodie. After we lost him, LSU and Auburn bum-rushed us straight up the middle and there wasn't shite we could do about it. Very disheartening.

the injury bug hit us pretty hard in '03 as well. Anyone remember Brandon Avalos?
