And it'll drop as ISU loses. You're making assumptions based on things that haven't happened.

They had Okie St at 6. They know how terrible a loss they had. One game won't make them believe they're #2.

Oklahoma State and Alabama are 2 and 3 in the computers, respectively. The rankings aren't changing, only the gap in the computers.

And that gap is pretty freaking wide. OSU has one game left, Alabama has one game left. Auburn is still ranked in the Top 25 of the BCS. We have a pretty commanding lead over OSU at present. Even with the win over OU, the fact that we still have to play a team that is ranked in the BCS Top 25 should be enough to hold OSU off.

What do you think a 6-6 Iowa St does to Okie's computer rankings? They're probably about to lose 2 more.

It won't drop them below Alabama's, no matter what.

What if they win one more.. over Oklahoma this weekend? Reckon that hurts too?

To be the best, gotta beat the best, in the BCS NC game. Just unlucky for yall, it's Bama again.

We shall see. Both teams have a lot of luck and a lot of scoreboard watching to do.

You do know that Oklahoma State is ahead of Alabama in the computers RIGHT NOW, don't you?

ETA: And the computers are the only ones that think Auburn is any good. But like I said, Alabama won't catch OSU in the computers no matter what.

However, the humans know exactly how good Auburn is. Or, should I say, how not good they are. As Herbstreit said tonight, "LSU, Arkansas, and Georgia have set the standard on what a beating of Auburn should look like."

The humans know Auburn isn't any good. And they're who will determine who gets to New Orleans.

Maybe. I personally think Bama is in the catbird seat after this past weekend. I might be proven wrong, I don't think so though. If I am though, wouldn't be the first, and I'll be here to bitch.

OSU's SOS will actually take a small hit next week. Not a big one...but a small one.

Several of their opponents are playing each other, Tulsa has to play Houston, and Iowa St who just put a spin on their NC hopes gets a shot at Oklahoma.

They're also on a bye, which is never a good thing when you're trying to stay relevant in the poster's minds.

They don't have to get to #2. They probably just need to get to #3, with a certain amount of #2 votes.

Still don't think they get but a small handful, mostly from Oklahoma, maybe Texas.

eta- And some of Texas and Mizzou will be SEC fan votes.

What I know is this:

2. Alabama .9491

4. Oklahoma State .8408

That is a very large margin to overcome with just one game left to go.

No one is saying it isn't large.

But it's not nearly as far-fetched as Alabama fans are making it out to be.

Think about this..Bama is closer to Lsu, than Okie State is to Bama.

The chances are much greater that Arky beats LSU and we play Arky in the NCG.

Of course they are.

None of the changes in the human poll that could vault Okie State to #2 would happen until the final coaches' poll.

After this past weekend, I know anything is possible. But I also know the difference between a legitimate argument and wishful thinking. What you say can happen, but most BCS experts out there are not even bringing it up because even they don't think it's likely.

If Auburn fails to defeat Alabama this coming Saturday then I think you will see a rematch. Personally, I prefer the Sugar Bowl. As much faith as I have in my team, I like the sound of 12-1 better than the sound of 11-2. A loss in the Sugar Bowl is a lot less likely than a loss in the BCS National Championship Game.

Not sure it's accurate to say "one game to go". There are multiple games to go. Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Stanford.. all of those games will either help or hurt Oklahoma State while they are idle. Of course, the biggest game of all is OU vs Oklahoma State in this discussion (and OU rolls, I'd bet on it).

I don't get the big12 love by the computers.

SEC has a stronger conference record overall with 0.628 vs 0.613

On top of that, Bama's opponents have a higher win % than Ok St's with 0.587 vs 0.559

I know I know...stats.

I like math so GFY

OU's defense can't stop shite, and Landry Jones is an INT-machine on the road.
