If I were the coach at a place like a Baylor or a Louisville then yeah I would jump at the Arkansas job. West Virginia is pretty much the same caliber, in an easier conference, and he's already build up good will there. Sure use Arkansas to get your raise but you sit tight and wait for the destination job to come your way. That's how most coaches operate.

never said it was the overriding factor, just saying you can't compare it to UGA situation because UGA HAD A HEAD COACH.

I mean what big name coach wants to move to Arky where fighting for recruits is the norm as well as trying to top the wall that is the SECW under those circumstances?
It's a tough spot and you need a perfect fit to continue to move forward.
Briles has coached up quite a few diamonds in the rough which was Petrinos best trait, along with having a great offense.

Of course it's important. If WVU says no to the bump or whatever facility upgrades you're asking for then I'm headed to Fayettville. Just saying you can't just write a check and expect whoever to come running. It doesn't work that way even at the very top schools much less arkansas.

Ther're rumors. Jeff Long made it clear today that he's not reaching out to anyone until the end of the season. In my opinion, I don't see any existing coaches of this caliber reaching out to JL either, not during the season.

I know that, you're acting as if I think we're going to land Pete Carroll or Jon Gruden, hell even Peterson or Patterson by just handing them a blank check. We've shown we can pay top 10 money and I that can go a long way to making a solid hire (i.e. Holgo)

IMO the first two are better coaches though Strong would need a homerum OC hire.

He would likely help recruiting in Texas since he has a bunch of connections from being a former Texas High School Coaches Association president. I am pretty sure his buyout is around 9million
