It is more than "just a game", but since we are most likely goin to lose, I aint getting worked up about it. I don't want my weekend ruined over what will likely be our loss.

just another game.

If a coach had screwed my school over the way Nutt did to Arkansas (leaving the cupboard bare, all the drama with the Springdale group and their parents & the text-messaging scandal, etc.) and then left to coach not only another school in the same conference but in the same damn division the very next season, it would not be "just another game" for me.

Correct, amigo.

Nutt needed to go. He was 2 players away(M Jones and DMac) from having been run out yrs ago. His recruiting was sporadic at best.

There are no-doubt Ark fans that didn't want him to go, but they are either, 1)uninformed, 2) suffer from an inferiority complex, or 3) outright stupid

That would be correct. By the time it was all said and done, even the most seasoned hard core "Nutt Huggers" knew it was time for change.

I know that around here DC has earned the right to speak for us Hogs; however, she is wrong on this one.

Do you live in northern Arkansas? The feeling is much different around here.

So if Ark wins, you wouldnt' gloat one bit?

I think the ark fans saying "just another game" are just telling themselves that and if by some long shot the hawgs win, they'll be celebrating, talking shite, etc. BTW, I'm pulling for the pigs.

not really. i didn't gloat after the auburn win either. i know it's not the same but the talent level is vastly different and there are a lot of variables.

i will wait a few years to see the major differences before i feel good/bad about anything.

It's a big deal to the Hog fans here in south Arkansas. This game is the only one they seem to care about. According to most I talk to, they have already given Tulsa the win in afew weeks.

Im excited for the game just because its another game I get to watch. I go to school at Ole Miss, but im not fully informed on the whole Nutt/Arkansas thing and why he was let go. I'm not up for the whole Ole Miss flying a banner at the game deal. I just hope its a good game, and I hope both teams display good SEC football.

Nutt knows how to coach talent, Ole Miss had talent. Petrino can recruit and will throw the ball even with a shite QB like C. Dick.

Did Nutt recruit and coach Casey Dick for 3 years?

Why is OM 3-4, if he can coach talent?

DC, you know it's a big deal to a lot of people. How can you fill a stadium with two 3-4 teams?

Because we have played three ranked teams. Of the 7 teams that we have played 5 have been ranked at one point or another this season.

ha, ha, etc. I guess your OK with losing to a team, as long as their ranked.

Welcome to the world of Nutt's mediocrity.

2) 10 seasons = 0 SEC Championships. THis is unacceptable at any SEC school (besides Vandy, bc the just have lower standards). If we dont fire the guy, we are basically approving of being mediocre, and the whole point of having a coach is to win...not be mediocre

You sir are a complete moron. How many times was Arky in the SECCG with Nutt? Ole Miss never been there, MissSt once I think, Scar never, Vandy never, UK never. Your school, while you may not like it, is on par with these programs. Arky does not have the HS programs to compete year in and year out with national powers. It's reality. Nutt won more at that school than any coach will for years to come in the SEC. Yes I think Nutt is a snake and creepy but don't act like he did not take your school to a place that probably no one else will in the next 5-10 years. Now go kiss your cousin

Some of the same old mythology.

I'll say the same thing that I always say: Unless you would want Nutt to coach YOUR team, why would you imply, as you did above, that we should have kept him at Arkansas?

Are you truly stupid enough to think that Petrino is not an upgrade over Nutt?

Now you'll have to pat attention to this point: Petrino appears to be improving our recruiting markedly over what Nutt was able to bring to Arkansas.

So, let's see if we can put all of this together for you.

1) Nutt was an average coach at best, and still got us to SEC championship games

2) Petrino is a better coach then Nutt. Hands down. Oh Sure, some people don't like him, and he has no doubt moved around a bit. BUT, only the most uniformed individual(this might describe you of course) would opine that Petrino can't coach.

3) Petrino is improving our recruiting.

So, we take an Arkansas program that has already proven it can compete in the SEC , and then you add a better coach and better recruiting, and you, in a blinding bit if brilliance, deduce that we will fall into SEC oblivion without Nutt at the helm.

We will see, won't we?

Okay moron #2

No where did I say keep Nutt. Only posted about what he did and the delusional expectations Hogs have.

drink your Petrino kool-aid all you want, I would not want either coaching at my alma mater.

Says you. Prove it on the field and I'll buy it, until then the University of Arkansas is a second tier SEC program at best. Get over it.
