took this from a post on rivals.

a portion of a synopsis of 5* OT Jordan Diamonds visit to the south.

From an Iowa reporter....

"Arkansas is very, very underrated," he said. "It's a very underrated place. It's actually very nice. It's a place where you can go and keep your mind strictly on football. The coaching staff there was great. The players there were great, too.

"I got to see everything I wanted to see. Arkansas was definitely boosted up on the list. I'm hoping to get down there for a game."

"I thought it was just a dry area, you know, just nothing there," Diamond said. "But there are a lot of things there. There are a lot of great restaurants there; a lot of great places to see. It was a good deal. It was more than I expected."

"Arkansas' facilities were amazing," Diamond said. "Everything is brand new. They're doing a renovation also to get some more brand new stuff down there. It will be even better.

"Ole Miss, there stuff was nice, too. But it was kind of old down there. They talked about a renovation, too, when I talked to Coach (Houston) Nutt in his office.

"The coaching staff down in Arkansas and at Iowa are high-tempo. Those coaching staffs are get-after-it type guys. Down there at Ole Miss, they're kind of laid back and just let things play out. They're cool, calm and collected."

Does that article say if he ended up going to Auburn or not? I know he cancelled his visits to UT and Vandy but I hadn't heard anything about Auburn.

Didn't seem like he had the greatest visit based on that quote. Wonder what he means by "old"?

No worries. It's gonna be tough to pull him out of the north considering he was long thought to be a lock for Michigan. Hopefully we gave him something to think about.

hmm....interesting. I've been hearing a lot of talk behind the scenes that there could be possible renderings of a North Endzone expansion.

Maybe Nutt showed him his 1998 SEC West Championship ring?

Why do that when we have a 2003 banner?

Just get them to campus as Petrino said and we have a good shot at signing them.

Isn't he from Chicago?

If so, Ole Miss might be a little deserted for him.... Just sayin'

OM actually beat us out for an Illinois kid a couple of years ago. Craig Drummond I believe was his name.

I am betting with Diamond that he has Gregory in his year talking Arkansas up since we offered him and it sounded like he had a great time on his visit too.

Everybody says the same stuff about Fayetteville if they've never been to Arkansas. A buddy of mine from Boulder visited a few weeks back and kept going on and on..."I had no idea this was here, etc beautiful place, etc."

Petrino always says he thinks he has a chance if he gets to show players the campus and Fayetteville. He's often out in town somewhere on Dickson or the Square eating. I'm pretty sure he makes a point for recruits to see the town and all it has to offer.

Its not too bad at all. My buddy kept saying like he couldn't believe it "I could live here".

I made sure to show him the hippie-crunchy side, Farmer's Market, brunch at Greenhouse, Ozark Natural Foods. He was impressed with Dickson. The main thing he liked, I think, was that the people "seem so real." As opposed to the high-dollar hippies who dominate Boulder these days.
