Really you just gotta get in someone's ear at Maryland. The hire makes perfect sense. But sometimes with these people they just don't think of the right folks. A lot of times they're looking for the right cultural fit, or looking to hire some fatcat's golfing buddy or whatever.
Maryland is in a unique situation though. They need to take a chance on an up and comer. Someone with a solid reputation and a for sure winner. Dave Aranda fits that bill. Plus, he has experience recruiting north of the Mason Dixon line.
It's a home run waiting to happen. Just gotta whisper in someone's ear. Consider it done.
