Of course you were competitive the last two years. Right now you're not, at least in terms of competing to win the division. For crying out loud...you just had a drop out of the polls of historical proportions. So when people say that you're a couple of recruiting classes away from being competitive, it's going from this moment, in 2012, to competing for the division title. What you did the last two years with BMFP running the show is completely and utterly irrelevant.

Have no idea if there is any truth to this whatsoever but I've finally come around on Strong, I'd be happy with him as a hire.

Arky wasn't a couple recruiting classes away from competing. They were one dumbass coach away. As good as Bama's defense was last year, I don't think you'd want to get into a shootout with them this year if dipshit was calling the plays. And I'm not talking about the guy that likes to slap himself.
