There is no concrete evidence that states that Arkansas would not go to the championship game unless Georgia or Auburn won. There simply isn't.

If LSU makes it to Atlanta then yes the above statement is a fact. How could anyone disagree with this?

I give up. This isn't difficult. I'm not going to hold your hand through this.

I'll walk you through it. I told you you needed either Auburn to beat Bama sending you to Atlanta, or if LSU goes you need UGA to beat LSU. You disagreed with this saying you didnt care about Atlanta, only the NC game. I again layed it out that if LSU goes to Atlanta you have zero shot of the NC game unless UGA wins. You again disagree. So you hypothesize that at the end of the regular season if its

Bama
LSU
Arkansas

then LSU beats UGA

you still think you have a shot at the NC game.

Pure gold.

Nice assumption that if we beat the number 1 team in the nation on the road, that no voters would vote us up past Bama or LSU.

Pure gold.

Why would they vote you past Bama?

no one is assuming that. the assumption is you wont be ahead far enough in the polls to pass lsu in the overall BCS. It's an assumption anyone who has run the numbers is now coming to. Now if you blew LSU out that would change the discussion but that is so unlikely its hardly worth discussing.

LSU is NOT falling out of the Top2, even with a loss to Arkansas. It's actually nearly impossible given the computers.

Not according to Kirk Herbstreit, he just stated on mike & mike that the winner of the LSU-Ark game is a lock for BCSNCG

We only have to pass one realistically. I firmly believe that winning at LSU would give us a lot of second place votes and even some first place votes, and that people would look at our schedules and see that we were the only team that had to play both teams at their house, and that would play a part. Since 2/3 of the BCS come from voters, it could be enough to jump us up.

If you would like to read the article you can here.

Whether you call into Brad Edward's credibility or not everything he says in that article is spot on and based on math. If you still don't agree you can go read what LSUmatt has to say about it. Or lastly you can bury your head in the sand and choose not to believe it at all if what it has to say upsets you.

This is really all a moot point anyway because LSU will beat Arky. Soundly.

I think we win too. But the hypo that LSU wins really leaves no discussion.

Do the computers lag by a week? Cuz I'm pretty sure beating #1 away would make a big difference in our computer rankings; likewise, I think losing to #3 at home would make a big difference for LSU's computer rankings. The fact that LSU is ranked so high in the computers just means that we'd get a bigger boost from the computers if we beat them.

And as for our priorities--we gave up on winning the SEC when Alabama beat us. We knew it probably wasn't going to happen this season. But we still have a shot at the BCSNCG, and that >>>> SECCG

I've read the article. It is basically agreeing with what I said. We would need voters to help us out and we would need some first place votes.

If we got some first place votes while Alabama got some third place votes, it would significantly help us in passing them on the 50 or so ballets out of the 174 we would need to jump them.

I firmly believe that a late-season win over number 1 who had more recently beat Bama at their house would outweigh inhibitions to vote us up due to getting spanked by Bama at their house several weeks ago. That is the key assumption here. Feel free to disagree.
