Alice and Jim Walton do not care for Arkansas sports. Rob Walton is the owner of the Denver Broncos.

The grandchildren Tom and Steuart Walton care is into bike trails.

So what if they don't care about sports?

They do it just doesn't involve Arkansas.

Billionaire Phil Knight has donated 1 billion dollars towards Oregon athletics that has resulted in a powerhouse football program.

But hey we got bike trails!

You mean Nike billionaire Phil knight? Yeah, I can’t imagine why he would be interested in sports…..

Prepare to quit being a fan of Alabama. This is a product of NIL and it is necessary in order to recruit.

It has nothing to do with NIL. NIL is not paid for by the schools and this is money that goes to the schools.

You watching them helps with the ratings which the university gets money for its TV deal. If enough of you don’t watch, then it may get their attention. Or better yet, just don’t show up to the games.

Well I don't watch the games anymore unless it's a free feed. I listen to them on the radio, as I did most of the games when I was younger.

Also do you own any Alabama apparel? I know most Bama fans are bandwagon fans, but to openly admit it, it definitely a choice.

I am not a billboard and I do not wear any clothes that have brands/labels or writing on them. Alabama or otherwise. I have memorabilia around my house that has been given to me by friends and family however.

You calling me a bandwagon fan is just you making up fantasies to make yourself feel better.

So you’re admitting to being a bandwagon fan or Nick Saban fan?

I have been a fan for half a century and the sport is not what it use to be. It's been a constant nitpicking at rules, changes and so on over the years. I don't like many of the players, they lack heart and commitment.

It's not longer a balanced game between offense and defense, because people think high powered offenses(which is really just allowing the offenses to get away with a bunch of shite) equals more viewers and more money. So rules have been skewed.

Every year for the past 10+ years I've watched targeting penalties get out of control, and legitimate tackles getting players thrown out of the game. The hard nose and hard hits football I grew up on is gone. Tiny little receivers go across the middle knowing they are protected by refs/rules, etc. It's soft.

And now they coddle to every little whelm a kid has that might have a remote possiblity at bad PR. The NCAA has been gutting, we've got pay to play in action, etc.

My entire life I waited for the BCS and Playoffs, and we finally get them. But that didn't make enough money for the bowl games anymore, and everyone needs a "hope" for a NC to get those EPSN views and paychecks, so we've gone to 12 teams. Not because anywhere near 12 teams actually deserve it, but because TV networks need bullshite filling and drummed up interest to get more views.

I quit watching Baseball back in the 90's with all the strikes and shite.

I quit watching Nascar about 20 years ago when they started doing the chase for nothing more than viewership when they all race each every every week and there is no playoff or the other bullshite needed.

I quit watching the NFL about 15 years ago because the rules just kept getting dumber and dumber.

And if college football continues it's path, I'll quit watching it as well. It happens gradually, my interest went from me watching games all weekend and most of the week on the games I missed to I've watched a total of 4 games in the past 2 years. I didn't watch the SECCG last year or any of the playoff games.

You can cope and say it's just me if you want, but it ain't the same sport.

Perhaps not but they care enough about NWA. Investing in that alone will do nothing but help the UofA. Increase the population will bring in more people. More people means more money and more bodies that may or may not like sports

Within 5 years, the uniforms are going to look like nascar jumpsuits.

Right. I hate that the Astros and other MLB teams now have a corporate logo on the sleeve.

I hope Texas never does this but I expect all schools will once they see the $$

Unless you are born and raised a fan in Arkansas or graduated from the university then it is unlikely you're a fan.

I have been living in the area for over 20 years and have not met very many people that moved from out of state that are fans of Arkansas. Many of them are pro sports fans or don't care for sports.

The ones that have moved in are from within the state.
