You think this tin foil cap stuff when everything that Long guy does is to control information and help his own cause. The hand writing is on the wall for that guy though and he will be dealt with soon enough.
I can not believe that more of you do not see the way he manipulates and controls things. He sits there and lies about it too like it is not his fault. The guy has EGO issues and for an AD that is not a good thing.

I always think it's funny when the SEC/B1G hate comes out. As a former Big 12er, both are based on controlling the ball/clock and dominating with strength in the trenches. There's a lot of similarities.
Bielema was a great hire, and I'm sure he'll be fine. If he can do what he did with the cornfed midwestern boys, I'm sure he'll be able to build it in the south.
The question is whether or not he can do what he did at a strong SEC caliber and lead the pigs to BCS games and maybe national championships.

Did he build that off John L Smith or John Pelphrey? Was it those great hires that lead to that honor or was it the success of Bobby Petrino?
You all crack me up in your blind devolution to a guy that has done a lot of damage to the fundamental status of the Razorbacks and its program. The fruit does not fall far from the tree and his situation will catch up to him soon.

Ah, shite. I always forget about Pelphrey. Was that Long's hire?
Posted on 8/24/13 at 6:46 pm to Mizzeaux
No...that was, I beleive, was Franks last hire.

Even if it was a Long hire, at least he swung for the fences with Altman first.

I actually think it was White's hire.

Pelphrey was hired 4/9/07
Jeff long arrived ar Arkansas in the fall of 07 and didn't become AD until 1/1/08
More evidence that you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

I think Altman saw the complete shite storm that was Hogs basketball that Heath left.

I hope BB does better than Petrino since that would mean a BCS bowl win, I just hope Long does not find a reason to fire him if he does start winning. I think one of the reasons we have BB right now is because of Long. Patterson and his staff could not work for him and several high profile coaches could not do the same. It is hard enough dealing with a coaches EGO than having to deal with the EGO of a very hands on AD.

Maybe Anderson can work with what he got after Pelphrey. I'm not one of the Mizzou fans that was sad he left, I'm not sure he's a big game coach, especially the kind of coach that can win at Mizzou.
Maybe Anderson works there, but he seemed like the kind of middling coach with a couple great moments that has a tendency to survive at Mizzou. It's always funny when Hog fans use the Anderson thing against Mizzou, I was happy to see him go. I don't like the 40 minutes of hell thing and the weaknesses it tends to breed.
ETA Rant Disclosure: not shite talking, just a real opinion from a single person.

NP Mizzeaux. I respect your opinion. As far as MA coming here. It takes us back to a time that we dominated. We are hoping MA can do the same thing. I never thought MA was a good fit with Mizzou and he really wanted the Hog job but past administration would not hire him due to bad feelings. I am looking forward to BB season and some good Ark-Missou game. Same with FB next year.

Since we're hidden in what is now a pretty well hidden place, can I ask what you think about the 40 minutes of hell scheme?
When it came to Mizzou I tried to embrace it as the basketball version of the spread, but in such and up and down fast paced game like basketball it seems like the weaknesses and flaws in the system seem to be easily identified and exploited.
I don't know much about the Nolan era, I was too young, but is it just something that you have to recruit around and build to make it so the weaknesses aren't as easily exploitable?

I'm not sure it will work due to refs calling so many fouls now. If he is successful great, but Arkansas fans needed to see.
Razorback basketball would never be able to move forward until that what if (Mike Anderson bringing back 40 minutes of hell) got answered.
Fans need to see it either be successful and stay or fail and let it just become history. But until that happens no coach would ever have the freedom to put in place their style of play at Arkansas.
