Ole Miss would beat the breaks off of Oregon, Indiana, BYU, and Notre Dame

ND and Indiana both have solid running games and solid defenses. Ball control and running the clock. Limits blowout possibilities.

Oregon has the offensive firepower to keep pace in a shootout, don’t know about their defense. Don’t know much at all about BYU. But they should’ve lost to Utah.

Ole Miss played excellent defense vs Georgia, but let’s also remember that Beck is susceptible to ints.

The only team worth a damn that Texas has played wiped the floor with them.

We say that a lot about the SEC, but damn if 2024 hasn't been the most obvious circumstance of that I've ever seen.

BYU's schedule is pathetic.

9/14/2024 at Wyoming Laramie, Wyo. W 34-14
9/21/2024 Kansas State * Provo, Utah W 38-9
9/28/2024 at Baylor * Waco, Texas W 34-28
10/12/2024 Arizona * Provo, Utah W 41-19
10/18/2024 Oklahoma State * Provo, Utah W 38-35
10/26/2024 at UCF * Orlando, Fla. W 37-24
11/9/2024 at Utah * Salt Lake City, Utah W 22-21
11/16/2024 Kansas * Provo, Utah 9:15 P.M. CT
11/23/2024 at Arizona State * Tempe, Ariz. TBA
11/30/2024 Houston * Provo, Utah TBA

BYU being up there is very reminiscent of 1984 when BYU won the national title after beating Michigan in the friggin' Holiday Bowl. Their schedule was a joke (their lone "big" game during the regular season was a win against #3 Pitt, but they ended up 3-7-1).

Ole Miss needs to play close attention to where them and Bama fall in the playoff rankings this week because if they are behind Bama and TN beats GA they can probably forget about getting a playoff spot.

I don't understand you mentality

Tenn plays UGA. If UGA wins Ole Miss's resume is at least 2nd out of those 3.

If Texas beats A&M then the Aggies are out. If A&M wins, Texas would have no top 25 wins.

Let's just say it goes chalk and Tex and UGA win those games.

Tex 11-1 In
Bama 10-2 In
UGA 10-2 In
OM 10-2 In
Tenn 10-2 Bubbly as hell
Mizzou 10-2 Out

If Tenn wins then:

Tex 11-1 In
Tenn 11-1 In
Bama 12-2 In
OM 10-2 In
Mizzou 10-2 Out

If A&M Wins

Bama 10-2 In
UGA 10-2 In
A&M 10-2 In
OM 10-2 Bubbly
Tex 10-2 Bubbly
Tenn 10-2 Bubbly
Mizzou 10-2 Out

In that scenario it goes to resumes. I'd take Ole Miss's wins @SC and vs UGA over the wins of Tenn (vs BAMA) and Tex (@Vandy?) at that point.

They’d probably beat half of the top ten the way they are playing.

Re: Notre Dame. Is there a worse loss among the playoff contenders than losing at home to Northern Illinois? Like it or not, the national media overlooks ND's flaws more than any other program in the limelight.
