Clemson had Watson and since when has Carolina been the benchmark for QB recruiting?
If they're so bad at recruiting quarterbacks, you'd think they'd jump at the chance to even offer an SEC-caliber guy an hour away.

You're honestly too stupid to insult.

It is pretty interesting that the Georgia posters here get more defensive and bent out of shape over people criticizing Richt than bammers get over people criticizing Saban

It's pretty interesting that you suck cocks and would get your AZZ beat IRL by every UGA fan on this board.

Guru is such an overused word when it come to football coaches.

I didn't even realize he was considered a QB guru. However, he certainly hasn't done bad at the position, regardless of how it happened.

I bet if you asked NFL people to name 5 college coaches that they would like their QB draftees to have played for in college, he'd be on most of those lists. Him, Cutcliffe, Harbaugh, and Fisher would be popular answers.
Does that make him a guru? Depends on your definition. I do know that UGA's QB play over the past 15 years has been consistently excellent relative its peers, and FSU's was before that.

Yet Matthew Stafford is the only Richt quarterback at Georgia to be drafted highly by a NFL team

What an incredibly obvious alter.

Who else should have gotten drafted highly? A lot of being a high draft pick is measurables and potential.
David Greene? Not exactly desirable measurables, was still a third rounder.
Shockley? Athletic but a pretty bad throwing motion. Still was a 7th rounder.
Joe Cox? Lol.
Aaron Murray? Was below 6 feet with an above average arm (compared to guys like Stafford, Rogers, and Brees) and was still drafted in the 5th round.
Mason? Weak arm, still got on with the Redskins.
There is more of an argument to be made that Richt and Bobo's coaching got some of his guys drafted higher than where they should have been.
An argument can also be made that every QB under Richt has reached his full potential and that Richt actually gets more out of his qb's than most.

I agree that the guy is an alter because any Georgia Internet poster that is not a moron is more than likely an alter

Richt earned his past 10 years of salary by not recruiting Anthony Jennings. Ole Les thought he was getting a steal right out of UGA's back yard. Sadly, it was a trap.

This really is a "chicken or the egg" type subject. Even if the rep was not earned, at least it helps us recruit elite QB's most of the time.

The better qbs under Richt were 5* (DJ, Stafford, Murray) or 4* (Mett was pretty good at LSU) and they did well. The lower rated guys didn't do as well, Joe T, J Cox, H Mason.
And with Stafford, Richt never corrected of his obvious flaws as a qb, such as touch and mechanics. Again I've said Richt is an above avg qb coach, but not the greatest. How much credit should go to Bobo too? The consensus seems that UGA fans think he is the greatest qb coach ever, while other fans of different team thinks he is good but not great like some UGA sunshiners. I think his system puts qbs in an environment to thrive, but so did Hawaii and Texas Tech. But would you guys consider the Hawaii and Texas Tech coach to be better than Richt, since statistically their qbs outperform ours?
I agree w/ you djsdawg that he can recruit great qbs, and we have a great system for qbs, which have helped us win. It just seasons like this one, where we have 3 qbs who haven't really excited anyone too much in the limited action we have seen them in, and now we add another who will have even less time to learn our system really doesn't excite me for this upcoming season. I think our D is going to be NASTY this season, and our running game too but the qb situation really worries me, which is why I'm asking about Richt's ability to coach qbs up. We have seen with the lesser talented qbs (Joe T, Cox, Mason), they haven't really thrived like the higher rated ones(DJ, Stafford, Murray). And considering that next season we might be breaking in another new qb, would be 3 yrs in a row. But hopefully Eason will lead us down the left handed path to glory.
