1 quarter that saw him moving the ball? And never saw another snap?
D'Wayne Mathis started as QB Georgia's first game of the season against Arkansas. He ran 6 plays for 19 yards on his first possession, 3 plays for 9 yards on his second, 4 plays for -7 yards on his third try (NEGATIVE SEVEN YARDS), three plays for 3 yards, 4 plays for 9 yards, 7 plays for 3 yards...you see where this is going.
He was then pulled for Stetson Bennett who threw for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns in the 37-10 victory.
But, yeah, Georgia should have stuck with D'Wayne.

Notice Bennetts 1st start? Becks? He didn’t just bench them and never give them another chance.

His 2020 passer rating was 55, which is insanely bad.
How much extra credit are you giving him because of your DEI racism?
I assume it Must be 3x, which moves that 55 to 165, which is very good.

Why do you think it was that bad? Since you’ve never done anything important I’m spoon feed it to you. Actually playing QB takes confidence. Confidence in yourself, your head coach and your OC. When you wait a couple years to be the starter and your coach benches you after a quarter for a less talented, less athletic, less gifted QB and only only puts you in with a limited playbook, no prep time, and you believe you are getting benched on your next mistake, it’s hard to play your best.
Dude survived a brain injury and wasn’t even given a shot.

The important thing here is that you admit it was "that bad", but you never explained the DEI bump you are giving him, so what is it?

0 series or 0 pass attempts = no shot.
Starting a game +17 pass attempts = a shot.

Holy shite, you're still spouting bullshite?? Just more proof you are obsessed with UGA, it's truly pathetic at this point.

Yep. It was against Auburn in 2020. He threw for 240 yards and a TD in a 27-6 win. Pretty damn good for a first time starter.
Bennett was injured against Florida later that season after leading Georgia to a 14-7 lead. Mathis promptly took over and threw for 34 yards, a TD and 2 interceptions in the 44-28 loss.
D'Wan Mathis is such a teriffic QB that Temple switched him to wide receiver. He played last season for the Davenport University Panthers.
You might make a case that Justin Fields didn't get a chance to prove himself at Georgia...but D'Wan Mathis??? That's the hill you want to die on?

I’m asking for clarification not conceding the point. I honestly do not believe you are able to judge QB play.

His 1st Quarter?
Ineffective 1st drive with multiple incompletions and flags
2nd drive multiple incompletions
3rd drive multiple incompletions
But he wasn’t benched. And that was after a year of mop up time and chances. Mathis got 1 qrt with no prep time.

Imagine a college football coach going with D'Wan Mathis (switched to reciver at Temple before transferring to Davenport University) over Stetson Bennett (MVP of two National Championship games).
Congrats. You're the President of the D'Wan Mathis Fan Club.
Fitting since Tennessee is the D'Wan Mathis of college football.

I say 55 is terrible. Do you agree?

It came a week after the Mathis start. He had a passer rating of 144.

Due to your DEI view, you think 55 is equal to or better than both, right?

Any good plays made by Stetson in the first 6 drives?

One that develops talent instead of of the low risk low talent low ability guy?
And it’s not just Mathis, it’s a theme with him. Fromm Bennett and Beck were the same QB that he selected over far more athletic and talented QBs that had the audacity to expect to actually play QB instead of hand the ball off and hope for the best.
