what you're referring to as Wells being "toxic",
his inability to make plays on the field stands alone -

I don’t care that he transferred. We’ve had tons of players transfer out, zero issues with them
Wonder what’s different?
It’s okay man, he sucks. We’re just laughing at him, not Ole Miss. go about your day.

Yeah....he's trash. I've already stated such. Toxic? We have different definitions of the term.

It's like you don't even bother reading anything past 3 words of a response.

I gave Wells level effort, I’ll admit

And there's that FG kicker that transfered to Notre Dame ... having a great year.
Mitch Jeter. Supposedly, ND had a grad program he really wanted. He graduated from SC, and pursued his final year for a great grad program. I have absolutely zero issue with this, as grad transfers were always treated differently.
Yeah, we could have used him this year - likely have two fewer losses with a better kicker (though I can't hate Herrera - he's done everything asked of him). But Jeter isn't going pro, and parlayed his remaining eligibility for a better chance at future employment. Great Gamecock, and assuming SC doesn't make the playoffs and doesn't play ND, I'm pulling for him.

During this week of political jockeying for the last potential playoff spot, it's nice to see SC and Ole Miss fans uniting over mutual hatred for Wells, and SC and Bama fans uniting over mutual hatred of Clemson.
What ties Ole Miss and Bama this week?

lol I don’t hate Juice. He celebrated others success and played. I just think he’s a really bad wide receiver.
Nothing can unify ole miss and bama. Clearly the worst of the trio (OM, USC, and a distant Bama) but getting in because of their past. frick bama.

He did the right thing. God Bless him.

Correct. He seemed to be well liked by his teammates. Sounds like toxic issue was just a USC thing.

But yes.....he is soft as charmin for a receiver his size.

Wells was excellent in 22 for SC. He was first-team All SEC for a reason.
But he got hurt early last year during the UGa game, and even though he was cleared in the last quarter of the season, he refused to play. That angered some folks, for sure. Really could have used the spark he would have provided as another target when Xavier Leggette was clearly No. 1 and drawing all kinds of double-teams.
Choosing to transfer was his decision. And it is what it is in this marketplace. SC grabbed Sanders in much the same situation. I think most of us are simply frustrated at how he *didn't* finish '23 when he could have been the difference in that year's Palmetto Bowl.
Ultimately, his performance at Ole Miss has really destroyed his draft stock. XL went in the first round last year. Gotta think Wells could/would have contributed this year on this team. Hindsight, much like Sellers with contacts, is 20/20.

it's unfortunate that the toxicity of USC caused Wells draft stock to plummet. Definitely had a promising career.

Tbh Sellers would have killed Wells stock even more.

That's a take, for sure. Considering Sellers will get Josh Simon drafted at TE and is playing with a squad of FCS transfers and a track star trying to learn football.

TEs are usually the product of a bad passing QB.

Is that even possible at this point?
