that was awesome. we looked at the demographics of her hits (she can view it via a map of the US and each state that goes to her site is colored darker if it's a heavier hit count)... after I posted that on the O/T lounge, the map turned Lousianna DARK green. it was by far and away the darkest state. and i was going to do a secondary "tipsy" edition *edit* but we all got too sleepy. i'm sure we'll have other installments later :P

tuck he was never offered the job. LSU did interview him but they feel in love with Johnson after that first meeting. Personally I thank god b.c Johnson is a much better coach. I have never gotten the love afair people have for Grant.

What happened that made Grant not go to LSU. I read somewhere he was seriously considering going to LSU but that your AD did or said something he didn't necessarily like. Anyone know what happened?

I think yall end up with Miami or Clemson's coach. Both better than Gottfried.

Miami's coach is marginally better and Purnell is not better.

Actually, Gottfried is better than both of those guys. Gottfried (and Brady) weren't nearly as bad as the haters make them out to be.

sometimes a change of scenary is all you need. brady wasnt warm with the fanbase and media and too inconsistent. I think gottfried was mediocre but Alabama wants to keep up with the Joneses

No sarcasm.

Haith has made the NCAA tourney 1 time in 5 years at Miami.

Purnell has never won a game in the NCAA tourney in 5 tries. He's been coach of either Dayton/Clemson for 15 years.

Gottfried went to 5 NCAA tourneys in 10+ years and took Bama to its first elite eight ever.

BFD, how many winning seasons did he have in conference? Gottfried and Brady were recruiters who got lucky a few times with good lineups. Brady, in particular, took advantage of the Collis Temple Jr connection.

From what I'm seeing tonite, I hope like hell Bama doesn't end up with Anderson.

they wont. his heart may be in Alabama but he won't give up what he's got there at Mizzou just yet I don't think.

This kinda shite is what's irrelevant. Tourney success is what really matters. Winning the division means nothing in hoops and even winning the conference isn't super important with a 64 team post season. You make your name and your school's name on tourney success.

They both recruited those players though, that's what count. And I keep hearing about this Collis Temple bullshite, who was the head coach? Brady took LSU to its first final 4 in 20 years. Smart money's on Johnson NEVER taking LSU that far.
