Chubb was over 7 YPC, that's impressive. Fournette was t-6th in conference at 5.5 YPC.
Calling Chubbs numbers unimpressive is wrong.

4* if memory serves. I believe he either broke or seriously challenged a state rushing record of some sort but I can't remember.
He was always seen as a really solid pickup, but he was basically overshadowed by us getting Sony Michel as well. Kinda like in '12 nobody really talked much in the preseason about Gurley because we got Keith Marshall.

State had three backs, two returning, with a better YPC than Fournette.
Two of which had less than 50 carries....

Robinson was the only one at 6.3 ypc.

ETA: NVM, I didn't realize you were counting guys that barely touched the ball.

45 and 47. You can add in the 3 and 5 yards respectively as zero yard carries and their averages are still better.

Nah, he's counting two guys who had less than 50 carries.

If that's the case then two kickers led the conference in ypc.

There's a reason they don't include guys with so few carries in the rankings.

He was a 5 star on one of the services and a very high 4 on a few others I think. I want to say he was in the Top 30 on 247.
He was a little bit under the radar because he played weak competition in high school so no one really knew that he was THAT good.

I hope you've noticed I've avoided this thread..
And interestingly enough I'm arguing with a State fan now for both Fournette and Chubb.

Just wanted to point it out since you think my batsignal goes off everytime one of these comes up and I'm arguing in it tooth and nail

If it had gotten flooded with LSU fans saying LF was better i have no doubt you'd have been right in the middle of the fun.

Maybe so. Ok probably so. But I've given up on posting stats and long winded diatribes. Someone earlier in the other thread down the page summed it up in one sentence. Chubb is better right now, the future for both's careers is yet to be seen. That's pretty much all that can or needs ot be said so that's what I'll parrot from now on.

I think most of us have settled the debate for the most part. We agree to disagree on some things, but one thing we can all agree on is how much fun it's going to be watching these two backs the next couple of years.

This is what I've done. It's exactly what I said in my first post lol.

I hear ya.
That basic sentiment is what I've been saying all offseason, just in a lengthier way.

FWIW, after seeing some of Chubb's numbers from his workouts I don't think the "LF has more upside" argument holds weight anymore.
I think both are equally talented and will have monster careers in college and the pros.
