Would not have been fired if Ole Miss had not made the tourney. How could we have fired him? It still would have been our best season in a decade, our 6th 20 win season in his 7 years (ACLpalooza being the lone exception) He became the all time wins leader this year.

Say we lost a close one to a decent Mizzou team in the SEC tournament, popping our bubble. We go to the NIT and win a couple games. Rebel fans, how would you feel if AK was our coach next year?

Personally, I'd be resigned to him being our coach. We couldn't do better. We have no history and the worst arena in the league. I'd hope that AK would be able to recruit a tourney team to our new arena. Now, I just hope we can hold on to him.

TLDR: I want your Andy Kennedy opinions.

By acknowledging his history of underacheving with all-SEC caliber talent.

I would have honestly been very frustrated. I like the guy. I always have. At some point, we have to realize that we don't deserve shite until we start investing in it. Piss poor facilities. Piss poor arena.

You get what you pay for.

You go from firing him to him doing well in the tourney and possibly getting a shot at a better job.

Such is the life of an Ole Miss fan.

I would be surprised if he jumped ship now. Ole Miss stuck with him when not many programs would have.

Quit flaming.

I really do actually think Ole Miss is no better than a stepping stone school in basketball. Honestly I'm not flaming.

The last coach you guys had who had success there jumped ship to Arizona State, he was ahead of being fired at Ole Miss but jumped to a job where he ended up getting fired.

Ole Miss' problem isn't just facilities, pay, etc. It is whenever a coach has any amount of success the "bar" then becomes that amount of success and failing to meet it results in termination...

I think our shitty facilities have had more to do with it than you think.

ETA: You make a good point though.

Supposedly the plan we had for our new arena could be changed. The same company that designed the FedEx Forum, Sprint Center, Matthew Knight Arena (Oregon) is the one doing the designing for our new arena.
