Renovate? Yes. You definitely can and should at Vaught Hemingway. Expand? No way. I find no fault in having the plans and funds in place to build in a hurry when it becomes necessary however. We should have been further along in the process when the demand first struck as well, IMO

Hello, that's what we are doing except also using a "football expansion" to build a new arena.

Yeah, I think you do suck. I enjoy getting a laugh in at your expense. That fact that YOU are the only ones that can't seem to understand that you suck is what's so funny.

Call it what you want to, obsessed, mean, I don't care. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself and the pathetic atheletic program you have in Oxford.

By the way, you suck.

If it's all a ploy to build a new basketball arena faster, honestly can't fault you. Nobody should every have to postpone a basketball game due to rain ><

I am glad you are no one's AD. The fact is that no AD is going to expand their stadium knowing that they will regularly have empty seats. That includes your AD.

Duh. But if you knew ahead of time you would need a bigger stadium by '10 then you would put plans in order. Of course no one knows that. What we do know is we need to renovate VHS, we need a new arena, and we will need to expand our stadium sometime in the future. Therefore we put plans in place for all of that and the one thing that is not an immediate need is last on the list but also the biggest fundraiser. Get over your obsession. Anyone with a brain knows our plan is a great one to raise money for all athletics

How is this the first you're hearing of this? If football was the reason then we would do football first and would spend the majority of the money on football instead of the majority on basketball

I didn't say it was a bad plan. I am just saying that when this came out and all the ole miss fans are all like, "we're expanding the stadium" and then you say "y'all waited too late" I'm all like, "pump your brakes, it's gonna be a while and we only missed it by like a year or two."

that sentence made no sense. dwi

If you have a waiting list then you are not getting the revenue you would be getting from an already expanded stadium and you are behind.

No offense, but every other team in the country expands based on their waiting list... Or more specifically, their waiting list for premium seating. Happened at both Alabama and LSU recently...

Expanding in front of demand is a very risky proposition... Demand drives prices, and if the demand isn't there, the profits from expansion won't be either... Saturation is always worse than scarcity.

Can you frickers actually have an unbiased conversation? I know you aren't idiots. I know you can use your brain. In doing so you'll realize this whole thing is to get a new arena and faith that our football program will grow in the next 5-7 years. Is there any doubt in your mind that we will grow after the two worst back to back seasons in school history? You all know Freeze is here to stay. You all know he can recruit and that we will be competitive. That's a HUGE improvement from anything we've had. We had four period of short success... Nutt thanks to O's (Freeze) players, Cutt thanks to Eli, Tub, and Brewer. All were very short periods of success. I think Freeze is just as good a coach as Tub and we expanded thanks to his short success. Unbiased you know we are growing and improving

That's why this works, because OM fans care about football and keeping the "biggest stadium" award in the state. That's their motivation to pay for the arena. Just because we have obsessed fans that want to be bigger just to be bigger doesn't mean that was the administrations goal, but they are using that to raise money for basketball.

No, there is no doubt... Which is why I used the half-filled stadium in 09 as an example...

You are looking at longterm success as a reason to grow, which may be true... I'm just saying a success-starved fan base such as yours should consistently fill the joint when you are good. That hasn't happened in the past... Can it happen in the future? Sure... I'm just basing my thoughts on all the data we have to this point.

Took us a little over half of Mullen's first season to start selling out the joint, and we haven't yet stopped... If freeze can produce the same results, then by all means the expansion becomes logical...

The administration is being proactive in planning for success. That's the way things should be done IMO.

if we're going by waiting list of premium seating then its a no brainer we have plenty of that ... our problem we can't get the fans to go anywhere in the stadium where there isn't booze to be had

just you wait til SEC legalize booze sales then we'll show you

What about it? Same game can be played in reverse with your baseball scoreboard that was built after and is something like 2 ft bigger than ours. At least on this football board, we out built everyone in the country at the time other than Texas, whose board sits much further from the field...

Every serious school in the country has built one within the past 4 years... You don't think that was on Byrne's agenda the whole time regardless of OM's plans? Who will we be copying when the second one of identical size goes up in the new end zone to run in stereo with the current one?

Fact is a smaller stadium requires certain gimmicks to replicate the atmosphere in the 100k+ counterparts... That is something that our current administration understands...
