Out of those teams...yeesh.

I guess Kentucky, but it is as tepid a recommendation as possible.

For either of the Mississippi school to do so, they would have to count on 4 programs being down that have stronger histories, particularly in the modern era. For Kentucky or Vandy, they're going to be dependent on only 3 traditional names being down. Vandy probably has a tougher road to hoe, still, so Kentucky wins by that most glamorous of margins-- DEFAULT!

Its more likely that this thread isn't started again this summer than it is that any of those win in the next ten years

Surprisingly I will go with Ole Miss. With the talent in Mississippi and their Alumni, they really should be better. I also think expansion will help them with recruits from Texas.

I'd take Ole Miss over any listed. MSU always ruins their season with the first SEC game. UK loves basketball and I haven't seen them maintain a high level of play throughout an entire year. Vandy has never made a serious run at it in my lifetime. Ole Miss is just in a dry spell and seem like the most serious threat even though they are down right now.

I picked Ole Miss too, but that is a hell of a dry spell. Granted their last SEC title is more than 20 years after MSU's(not sure about UK's off the top of my head)

I thought I remembered they had one in the 70's but couldn't remember if it was vacated or not. Too lazy to look it up right now

I see MSU as having best chance if the West fall's back to where they were in 1990's. I do not think it Will happen, but it would be good for the conference if it did IMO.

WTF? One of the dumbest comments I've ever seen on here. How would that be good for the conference?

Let's apply your logic to other conferences as well. Would it be good if Ohio St., Mich, and Wiconsin were replaced with Indiana, Minnesota, and Purdue?

Pac12 to have Oregon St and Wash st replace USC and Oregon?

The SEC has had 5 different BCSNC. Not much improvement needed.

To answer your question I can't see any of those 4 making it to Atlanta in the next 10 years and I am being nice.

Right now Hugh Freeze is bringing in some good talent for his first recruiting season at Ole Miss. Could get better by February. Ole Miss just got a pretty solid QB recruit.(About time we land a QB that isn't a transfer or JUCO)

If we can bring in this talent and have them stay out of trouble and be coached the right way, they could easily make some noise in a couple years. Not saying they will win the Division or anything.

Hey, I applaud Freeze for bringing in the talent so far. He is working his arse off to fix things. I wasn't big on the guy, well actually I hated the hire. But I give credit where credit is due. He isn't slouching around.

All SEC teams have talent. Especially Ole Miss and Miss. St. The problem is depth. To compete both teams need 80-90 thousand seat stadiums. It's an arms race in the SEC and y'all are bringing sling shots to the war.

I don't think you need an 80 or 90 thousand seat stadium to be successful. Just need the right coaching and right leadership within the administration. As long as the coach keeps recruiting and building depth, he'll be alright. Right now Freeze is working on filling the major holes we were left with.

I just don't see State breaking through Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas anytime soon.

I think you meant Auburn. They galaxies would have to align. LSU fans get irrationally upset and fire Les, Saban hangs it up, Aub stays at a 7 win type team, arky doesn't hire a Petrino, A&M stays status quo, and Mullen has steadily kept the top MS talent and lucks up and recruits some phenom QB. Yes, I'm saying it will take a miracle.

Not enough people in MS to support it. Post State/OM's current expansions, we'll put 135k in Oxford/Starkville, plus 40k+ in Hattiesburg.

5% of Ms is 148, 925
5% is Bama is 240,137
5% of La is 228, 741

Post(current) expansions, 1 in 8 Mississippians will be in a stadium on Saturday, maybe the highest percent in the country...

This is why MS teams have to follow a strict redshirting/player development protocol, IMO.

We will never be able to purely recruit blue-chip depth like some others do. We need blue chip starters, then develop the players that are one notch below that over time to have quality depth...

I think this is biggest key to winning here...

Ole Miss or Moo State? Not with the attendance at their stadiums to fund a big time athletic program with $$. UK? Hell....I remember Tim Couch when he was at UK...Spurrier hung 70+ on them, the Commodores? Are they getting back into recording music?

Not on list: USC will be the first and Tex A&M after that somewhere in 2037.

Freeze is gonna take over the SEC. Ole Miss will win an SEC title before the newcomers or Arky does
