Screw resumes, screw "eye-tests", screw quality wins/losses. There is nothing that would make me happier than LSU lining up against Bama on 1/13 and putting it on their arse for a second time to win the National Championship.

Ultimate cosmic justice for 2011. I want this down to my bones.

Of course, LSU and Bama have to get there first and have the bracket play out so that they could meet in NOLA, etc.. But, at least speaking for myself, I'm actively rooting for the rematch. Not fearing it. WARNING - RATIONAL HOT TAKES INBOUND:

-Saturday's game didn't really change my opinion of Alabama or LSU. They're both playoff caliber teams. Shocker. LSU's win further validated them but I didn't learn anything I didn't already know.

-Alabama is not in tDecline. Defense isn't as good as years past. Cool. Neither is LSU's. Adapt and overcome. This might come as a shock to some Bammers but college football has/is developed/ing an entire tier of elite programs on par with Alabama. That's not the result of Bama mercifully descending from the CFB Mount Olympus to be with us mortals, other teams are just getting better. Alabama is just one of another probably 4-6 playoff caliber teams right now that realistically have the capability to beat each other any given game. The horror.

-LSU handled Alabama Saturday. Did LSU blowout Bama? No. Did Bama have a chance to win? Absolutely. But the facts are these: Alabama led for a total of zero seconds in the game. Alabama did not have a single offensive possession within one score of LSU in the 2nd half. LSU continued to execute and Alabama, despite their improved 2nd half play, never even seriously threatened. There aren't 5 qtrs, you don't get to play 10 game series, nobody gets spotted points and unfortunately game outcomes are dictated by results of all the plays from scrimmage and not just the piecemeal collection of your choosing after the fact. Mistakes, turnovers, good/bad breaks happen in football, they aren't anomalies, and there were plenty to go around for both teams. You still gotta line up and execute to get more points on the board than the other guys. LSU did that on Saturday and for the first time in a long time against Alabama, looked damn competent doing it.

TL/DR: Teams in the CFP will all be good but if I got a choice..... ON GAWD, ON EVERYTHING I LOVE, I WANT BAMA 1/13.

While I don't necessarily want to see them again, it would be Shakespearean if LSU were to shut Bama out in a rematch national championship in New Orleans. I don't think there are enough hamsters in the world to run this site if that happens.

Bama might have a playoff caliber team, but the schedule is not. You have to consider both when evaluating those top four teams at the end of the year, period.

Bama's opportunity to prove itself worthy fell flat in their own house Saturday. They failed their only test.

It's not about wanting Bama again, or "fearing Bama" ( ), it's about Bama being worthy based on its entire body of work, and this year, they are not.

There's definitely not enough towels in the world to clean up my semen if that happens.

I've been sitting here saying we did not deserve to be in the playoffs over and over, yet it isn't sinking in.

Why is that? Cold hard FEAR. the memory of 2011. In a rematch Bama is not likely to play as badly as they did in that first half. As badly as they did play, they stormed back and were one onside kick away from making some buttholes really pucker there at the end.

Now, don't get me wrong. LSU deserved that win, they played a great game and were the best team that day. But don't think Alabama can't beat you, they can. I think you know it in your gut too. Chances are, we never find out.

I 100% agree with you. This is just purely selfish desire. The idea by some Bama fans that we specifically don't want to play them in particular vs Clemson or OSU is hilarious though.

I wasn't even responding to you, dolt.

But I've been enjoying all your melty melts since LSU ended y'all's season.

Keep them coming, they warm my heart.

LSU doesn't blow 2 coverages and a punt and you can go ahead and wipe 3 scores off the board. Y'all grab that bomb from Tua near the endzone and plus 6 for yall...

See how I can just add and subtract points by altering events in the past that already played out?

Alabama is capable of beating any team in the nation. Said as much in the OP. However, they didn't do it on Saturday and now it's out of their hands because of it. I'd take my chances with Bama just as much or more than any other team that will be in the CFP FWIW.

It is true that the only way to truly get revenge for 2011 would be to beat them in the playoff. But if they don’t make it I’ll somehow deal with it.

Those were forced errors. We had uncharacteric UNFORCED errors such as the Tua fumble and Perine fumble

I would like a rematch because I want to see us win without giving up those big plays and 3rd and 19s. I'd like to see us win resolutely and leave no doubt.

I don’t. Simply because I plan on going to the game and if LSU-Alabama play in Atlanta, tickets will be a small fortune.

If we play Oregon or Utah, I’d imagine it won’t be as appealing

AH, so when LSU does it, it's different.

Disregard execution; acquire moral victories. Gotcha.

Sounds like Tua and Perine coulda used extra reps Work harder?

IDGAF who is next. This team won't be denied and they can beat ANYONE in the country.

LSU right now is the team no one wants to face or game plan for.

As long as it has been since LSU has been in the mix for it all, I would imagine the demand for tickets will be high regardless of the opponent...
