Who still uses term yankee other than a new York baseball fan.

Some people are stuck in the 1800s in this section of the country

Scrooster,

I corrected the OP using the 2nd map. Columbia and Athens tied a #7.

Is or isn't Texas, by definition(a former confederate state), a Southern state? Simple question, yes or no.

Apparently you've never visited the south. Welcome, just leave soon. Thanks!

Texans themselves are the ones who generally push this narrative.

Yea or Nay. Please answer the question. Are you going to try and tell me that my Texan forefathers did not fight for the South in the Civil War? Is that what you're telling me?

I'm all for calling East Texans southerners. I just have always followed the code that most Texans seem to live by that they are "Texan". So, if you want to be Southern, I am more than happy to call you a Southerner.

Anything Florida at the bottom of a Yankee list is fail. That state is New York's retirement home.

You could have just posted, "I know nothing about the state of Florida." Because you don't. There are select places in Florida where people 'transplant' to.

I can agree with this. And yeah, I'd say 100% that east tx is more culturally aligned with the rest of the states. I was mostly just giving you a hard time. But I was born and raised in the east so I'm more touchy than the other Texans about it. Lol.

They are like a cult....I mean I love them and all but good Lort they are a little nutty. I was at the Alamo one time and all the Texans there visiting were walking around this sacred hallowed ground with their chests bowed out and I'm like ya'll know most of the guys that died here weren't even from Texas, right?

The whole "Texan" thing is just the overinflated high-mindedness of Texans in general. Ask a Texan, and they will tell you that Texas is better than any place on Earth. We are "Southerners" but are the best kind of Southerner. We are Texans. Get it?

Texans really are an obnoxious species. Too bad we're better than everybody else.
