When you should be blaming Saban. He is a defensive specialist. He designed the scheme. He can override Goldings play calling. So why is Golding the bad guy? Saban just can’t keep up with today’s offenses. That’s why he was crying back in 2013.

Saban most definitely deserves some of the blame for not recognizing what he recognized on the other side of the ball several years ago: his schemes are no longer adequate (they are actually too complex) for the modern game. He let the offense be revamped. When is he going to relent and let the defense do the same?
You put Golding out there with Saban's Federal Tax Code of a defensive playbook and the result is like a monkey doing differential calculus.

Because it’s not about play calling on defense it’s linebacker development which he is responsible for.

Yea, definitely, except for that whole "score to take a 7 pt lead and then let Texas A&M drive 65 yards in 6 plays to tie the game" thing. Or the whole "then let them drive 54 yards on 8 plays to win the game" thing.
So, other than giving up 109 yards and 10 points on 14 plays in the last 5 minutes once we took a 38-31 lead, they did a real bang up job in the 2nd half.

Yea, the offense only scored 31 pts on 550+ yards against a team who was averaging 14 PPG against power 5 teams coming in. They really should have put up 45+ and 650 yards if they had any hope to win.

What's sad is Pete Golding held The University of 1980's offense to 24 points last year.
