Gurley was living off of the Offensive Line and Aaron Murray.
FYI Gurley doesn't play for Alabama.

How many freshman have won the Heisman? And you don't have him as a QB?

Stop using the excuse that Gurley had to split carries with someone. It makes you look foolish.
McFadden played in 3 less games and had to split carries with Peyton Hillis and Felix Jones.

Emmitt Smith was clearly better than both Gurley and DMac as a true freshman, so you nitwits can stop the catfight. In 1987 he carried Florida on his back and was a Heisman finalist.
I'm still perplexed at how many SEC fans forget how good Emmitt was in college.
Hershel is obviously #1 with a bullet for the other RB slot.

Excuse? Why would the guy with better stats need an excuse?
Plus, it is a fact that he split carries, so I'm not sure how that's "foolish". Furthermore, the only reason I even brought that fact up is because one of your dumbass fans made out like Gurley was the feature back all year when he clearly wasn't.

So why make that defense when it's known McFadden was in a crowded and talented backfield?

Hello? Because Gurley was too?
Is this real life?

Gurley is no Lattimore ... and Lattie's freshman year he did it against much much tougher competition than did Gurley.
Lattie had his biggest games against Georgia, Florida, Alabama, etc.
Gurley did not.

This is a cool (but tough) thread. Some DL from LSU for consideration:
Anthony "Boooger" McFarland
Kirston Pittman Bio
Anthony "Boooger" McFarland
quote:
Named Freshman Co-Defensive Player of the Year by the Knoxville News-Sentinel ... True freshman who proved his talent early in fall drills to the extent that he earned a starting role and he started every game at right defensive tackle ... Finished season with 73 tackles, including 12 tackles behind the line and two QB sacks
Kirston Pittman Bio

True freshman that saw action on third-down situations for the Tigers ... Earned Freshmen All-SEC honors from The Sporting News ... Also named honorable mention Freshmen All-American by Collegefootballnews.com ... Played in 13 games with no starts ... Had 15 tackles and 2 sacks ... Fourth on the team with 17 quarterback hurries

Yeah that UGA team in 10 sure was tough.

Gurley had 124 yrds and 1 TD vs FLA
He had 122 yards and 2 TD vs Bama
Good call brah

So Gurley shared carries with 2 other future NFL starters? Must've missed that.

As true freshmen?
Safety - Ko Simpson
Safety - Eric Berry
WR - Alshon Jeffery
WR - AJ Green
