Ethan Small is the best pitcher in the country and no one will tell me otherwise. Held the best offense to 1 run on 3 hits and struck out 11 (bleday twice)

Why would you save a guy for a game you might not be in?

can you explain what all that illegal pitch stuff was all about? im assuming someone made a fuss about the pause in his delivery? was it called a balk? what exactly happened?

I missed the first part but an inning or two later, the ump admitted he was wrong to Lemonis about it being illegal.

right on...hitters cant see his pitches, and it has nothing to do with the pause in his delivery. Dude will make a nice living playing ball professionally.

The league sent out a memo mid-way through the season that by the rule, the interpretation which had previously allowed a leg pump in the delivery was changed to allow a pause but NOT a leg pump. The umpire had originally ruled Small had "pumped," but he corrected himself and ruled it no pitch and admitted his mistake (which was caught by the all-access mic and shown later). The replay showed that Small had paused then lifted his leg further in the delivery, which is what the umpire originally thought was a "pump."

Congrats on advancing in Hoover. We’ll be hosting a regional. Will Ole Miss? It’s been a little while since y’all have won a regional. You missed the tourney all together 2 years ago. How embarrassing.

Imagine missing the tournament since 2006. Oh, has everyone else in the SEC done that?
