In '96 we beat that sissy arse all over the Cockpit except for the crooked SEC refs basically giving the game to Tennessee in an effort to get a second team in the big bowls. Peyton was sacked and fumbled ... Carolina recovered and ran it in for a TD but the refs said his arm was going forward. Replay proved them wrong but there was no instant replay at the time.
Five pass interference calls - three of them were bullshite according to replay and announcers - followed by two unsportsmanlike conduct calls against the Gamecock bench when our coaches and players finally got tired of the bullshite and ran out on the field to confront the refs.
All of that saving of Peyton and still, without SEC refs the next week, Peyton loses at Memphis State.
Fuccckkk Peyton.

We had five future NFL DBs on that team. It was highway robbery what the SEC pulled off in that game ... total fricking bullshite.
It's the only game in my entire life that you'll ever read or hear me blame on crooked refs ... or the SEC. The announcers couldn't believe what they we're seeing either. Go back and watch the game. I guarantee you you'll agree. Everyone who has ever watched it agrees ... except Vol fans.
