My older brother went there for his post-graduate to become a PA. Absolutely amazing school.

Wish athletics were a bigger deal. Always kind of liked UAB

I live in the Bham area. There are a shitton worse places an 18-21 year old could spend some time than UAB. There's a pretty decent bar scene, their athletics aren't complete and total shite overall, the Barons stadium is right next door whihc is cheap fun, there's several breweries, and there's a high contingent of hots that live in the suburbs that couldn't get into bama. Not to mention it's actually a good school.
Our kids aren't near old enoguh to start thinking abotu college yet but since UGA out of state tuition will be a few million per year by that point, I'd have no qualms with them staying home and going to uab.

Football team is getting better. Won some games we had no business winning. Todd Grantham, to my shock, has done a pretty good job with the defense. Think Mort is a tad too enamored with Ryder Burton but he's got grit. Yes, I would like more people at the games but this isn't a UAB specific problem.
Would like more consistency from basketball but I think NIL is part of the problem there. Hated seeing Yaxel leave like that but I'm glad a former UAB has a NC ring.
Baseball and the like need to step it up. But I'm mostly pleased over all.

Kind of tough being in the state with Alabama and Auburn. At this point it’s kind of hard for Auburn to be in the same category with Alabama in fan support

I did research work at UAB when I was an undergrad at another Birmingham college which is now a campus for future Coast Guard officers.
