MJ is there anywhere to stay close to Tuscaloosa? I would think that all the hotels are booked out due to the circumstances. A few friends and I were thinking about coming up this weekend to help with what we can. We were just wondering about the nearest place to sleep?

My guess would be somewhere up 20 closer to Bham.

Yeah, it'd probably be easier to get a room in B'ham and drive down.

Thanks guys. Do you know if they have any kind of regulations, as far as, letting us help with the clean up?

I, along with a few other guys are coming up from Mobile next week to bring supplies, and help with the clean up. We are thinking that North Alabama could use some help seeing as how the National Guard and others are doing all they can in Tuscaloosa and B'ham. If there is anything you guys can think of that they need please let me know. I know we are taking a 100 gallons of drinking water, and some non perishable food items, along with a few generators, and fuel. If there is anything else at all you can think of that we could take, please let us know.

Pank, I just got off the horn with my buddy. He went by and no damage was visable at 120. He said the whole subdivision looked fine. However, he said that no vehicle was in the driveway, so I'm guessing they aren't at home. I don't know the area but he said to pass along to you that all of the damage was east of the ice cream place and that if they were home when it happened, they should be just fine. He said most cell providers are down up there, and for you just to keep trying their phone. I hope this gives you a little peace of mind.

I would probably call some and check just in case, but I would think that they are probably full already. I would say that you would be best to stay in bham and drive down.
eta - it just really depends on whether they have power or not at the ones in tuscaloosa
