I doubt you could wear white against white.

I think they should ban Boise St. wearing their blue jersey on the blue turf. It is ridiculous since they can technically perfectly match an artificial turf to the jersey color.

I seriously doubt this was Kiffin's idea at all.

Me 2.

You gotta have a brain to come up with one of those.

Jersey isn't so bad. The turf, on the other hand, is an abomination.

Can a team make a special jersey to match the color of their opponent and just lose a time out?

you mean like bama coming out in white when you travel to tuscaloosa just so lsu will lose a TO? That would be some serious gamesmanship.

So this has not been done since 1969 (40 years ago)but it's now some sort of special tradition that we are all of a sudden breaking and the vol fans are crying?

I hate TN!

why does it really matter what jersey you get the shite kicked out of you in? Make the rivalry respectable again (with Kiffin that won't happen) the you can have a say as to what you wear...

LSU would let you. In fact, we'd insist on it.

Alabama denied us because McElroy is colorblind and Saban has a glass eye.

If that would have been the case for Jarrett Lee then maybe LSU would have had a 50% of catching the ball.

a few things to respond to in this thread:

LSU has never had to burn any timeouts because we're the home team. The home team gets to choose. Before that rule existed you had to get permission but nobody ever said no except Vandy, so we wore gold. Oregon State in 2004 requested we allow them to wear white instead of black and we agreed, wearing purple.

Spurrier never said no to us wearing white at Tiger Stadium, he just insisted that we do that same for Florida when we visited FF, which we did (wearing gold under Dinardo and purple under Saban).

Bama hates tradition, so let's blow up this Bama/Tenn rivalry and get a true 3 and 3 rotation with the opposing divisions, and not any of this stupid "permanent opponent".

There has always been a gentleman's agreement in the SEC that the home team could wear whatever jersey they wanted. No lose of TO if the other team agrees. I think a couple of times in history teams have pulled some BS but for the most part it has held up.

Agreed,Dinardo and LSU petitioned the NCAA to do this in mid 90s,and it was allowed.

What a bunch of assholes. I remember UCLA and USC doing it last season and it was pretty cool.

Come on man they play in the WAC, they would beat those teams if they played on sand.
