No answer from SOG. Again what is the definition of a tight window ? Does it change from year to year ? Never seen it as an official NCAA Category.

"official NCAA Category"

Go ask PFF what it is since they do it.

Because it's not.

It's a PFF metric.

quote:

“Tight” throws are defined by a defender being within an arm’s length of the receiver, or in the right spot in a passing window so as to discourage the throw.

Oh, ok, so we're at the "Puppets tells you what he sees and if you or people who grade film disagree they are dumb".

PFF - Mac is the best tight-window thrower in football

Puppets - Mac never throws into tight windows

I dunno Jim

But nobody seems to know the answer. How far down field does the pass have to go for it to count toward the stat ? Do Screen Passes count ?

You're coming in hard in this thread to compensate for you total whiff on pretending to have inside information.

It's cute we have now two sets of little tigers mad about our GOAT season.

I’d like to see someone put together a top ten plays by both Jones and Burrow video. Hell I’d like to see it done for a lot of player comparisons.

My guess is Jones would all be laser accurate passes and Burrow’s would be more scrambling type stuff.

Is this my gateway into becoming a YouTube star

Mac's would be traditional QB stuff, mostly deep throws into tight windows.

Joe's would be a fvckin smorgasbord of badassery - mostly the same throws but after maneuvering the pocket, sliding off a LB and falling out of bounds, ending with him calmly smoking a Camel unfiltered and winking.

But do screen passes count, because that could explain the whole thing Saint.

They do if a defender was within arms reach.

By this metric. There are other metrics that would favor LSU’s passing game last year like yards per game and tds per game.

Mac Jones is beyond solid and he’s looked far better and more competent than Tua. Really impressive season.

While you're on hold, please explain why you went silent after your hire and still haven't explained how you were so off.

I was told I'd be surprised at who interviewed. Well, I was, but not like you meant.

No SOG, just trying to narrow down the criteria. You throw out a stat with a percentage attacked to it , but can not answer the criteria around it. Is that something you statistically accepted with any numbers or just the ones you like?

It is detailed twice on this page alone. You just refuse to scroll up for some asinine reason.

We literally defined it man - I'm confused what else you want to read?

If there is a defender within arm's reach of the ball then it's a tight window - yes, that would apply to a screen pass. If you are throwing that soft screen pass into that tight a window it should probably automatically be marked as a bad throw, though.
